Merging galaxies spied by the Hubble Space Telescope

The Hubble Space Telescope was used to captured imagery of six galaxy mergers. The galaxies are designated NGC 3256, NGC 1614, NGC 4194, NGC 3690, NGC 6052, and NGC 34.

Just think about this for a minute. They can go back to this same galaxies merging together 100yrs from now and it will look almost the exact same way. Even though they are moving so fast into each other at speeds that we can't even imagine. They are just so huge they really wouldn't look to have moved far at all. It just shows us that in the big scale of things, we are almost nothing but dust.

We've probably captured many galaxies that include habitant planets. Meaning the Hubble Space Telescope has taken pictures of life. We just don't know it yet.

imagine what the inhabitants of one of those planets are going thru... one hell of a ride
