Hi from Tokyo! I love MD notebook as well. The design is so nice. Their original paper called "MD paper" has got very good reputation especially for writing purpose. So it might be more fun to draw with markers/ballpoint pens/pencils etc.

The size A6 is Japanese paperback size and the parchment paper is usually used for second-hand paperbacks in the stores to protect the cover, Also, the mesh cloth is used in book binding (Japanese only? I'm not sure) to hold the bound book together tightly before putting the actual cover. I think Midori wanted to bring out the feeling of minimalism by showing the skeleton of the book. I thought it might be interesting to know and I hope I'm making sense!

I really hope to see you work in this little book soon. I have been thinking about getting this MD style but wonder about the paper quality with watercolors ( I know you did a quick swatch) and big brush Pitt markers over time.

Oh no! You gotten me addicted to another art supplies 😂. Im so excited because tommarow I get to finally order my first watercolor pan set and water brush, I'm getting the jerry q watercolor set (have you tried it?) and a pentel aquash water brush . I know it probably doesn't matter, but I just wanted to say that you inspired me to start using watercolors❤.
