As Martin Brundle briefly mentioned in the post race show, F1 needs professional stewards. Having different stewards every race is why there is so much inconsistency between decisions.

The fact that Charles almost binning it into the wall wasn’t even mentioned whatsoever is insane to me. Wild moment

Lando lowkey looked at Austin, said "Aight, let's see who's first at the apex now" and sent it perfectly outside, using Max's own understanding of the rules against him.

8:55 If you read the stewards decision in Austin, Lando received a 10 second penalty that was reduced to 5 seconds because of the mitigating factor of Max forcing him wide.

Max did give space with Sainz earlier. I think it's a different situation with Norris because he knows if they come together it's a net win for Max.

Max actually said post-race that he prevented Lando from winning and so the penalties were worth it. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

Multi billion sport and they can’t afford to pay proper salaries for having a stewards team. It’s a joke

Max’s google history right now:
“What time second penalty is there for 🔫 shooting Lando’s tires at grid start”

Went straight to the live to see Matts reaction when I saw Charle almost losing it in the wall 😂

The Mercedes pair showed the field how you can race hard and fair yesterday was a wonderful battle

The second incident between Lando and Max is the perfect case for a drive through penalty. You shove someone off the track and now you're clearly hindering the other person's race? OK, you're gonna be made to get out of their way one way or another.

0:20 That's because there's nothing wrong the track layout itself. The problem in Mexico is that you always run into cooling issues in the thin air and usually need to drop back and leave a gap to the car in front if you don't get the move done within 2 or 3 laps. But yesterday thanks to a chilly 20°C outside temperature, this seemed to be less of an issue, and the racing immediately improved.

I think its possible Max didn’t care if Sainz passed him but no way was Lando going to pass

I'm so glad that Sainz got the win.
It was disappointing to see only 1 Ferrari team member congratulate Carlos when he qualified P1

Max prevented Lando from winning and himself getting a P4. That would have been a bigger difference than P2 and P6

I think Matt forgets at the start of this year the FIA said penalties are going up. Biggest example is magnussen in saudi getting two 10s for forcing another driver off and causing a collision.

I think its fine because such a heft penalty dissuades doing something that pushes the rules. The only reason Max is the focal point is because he pushes the rules to the limit so whenever he steps over a tiny bit he gets called out.

Looking at the precedence of saudi this year i think a 10s is actually consistent with what they earlier in the year

Haas absolutely cooked VCARB and Max made of the dumbest moves of the season at Turn 8

Fun fact - if George Russell didn’t get disqualified at Spa, Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes would all have had a one-two at some point this season
