I've seen some mixed reviews and opinions on this song so I want to share my own.
This song is about a woman who had wronged their lover. She didn't realize it until he was so full of rage and resentment the damage was beyond fixing.
And even if said woman put through the effort to better themselves, that doesn't mean that the wrongs they had done are right. And this goes for every relationship.
It doesn't matter if it's friends, family, or lovers. You always need to be mindful of your actions and understand the other. Because if one side, either side fails this. The relationship will break beyond repair.

This song strikes me as an abuser who’s either aware of her actions in the present, or reminiscing her actions in the past.
