Ceramic is thicker and it expires after around 5 years, it can break if you drop it and isn’t very durable. The biggest reason people switch to ceramic is because it can be a little lighter and it offers spawl protection but modern spawl protection on steel is very good too.

I have 2 extra plate carrier with armor in them. One I keep in the living room chair with a thin pull over cushion over it and blanket but u can’t tell or feel it’s there and it’s right in line with the front door if I had to use that as cover and shoot from to defend the house and main entrance of intruders. I also have a spare in my trunk for sticky situation with my truck vector in 10mm cause 10mm is the best mm(both are slim line with 0 attachments except 2 33rd mags(3 for gun in total 1 in gun 2 on carrier)and back up med kit for the car one for my edc truck pcc)

I’m poor so I bought some soft armor rated for 5.56 and put it in with my flak jacket that’s rated for 9mm so now it’s rated for 6.5mm. 😉
