Shimming worked for me. Thank you for the tip. Please note this bulb is in there very very very tight. It took a lot of shimming and pulling on the plastic end of the lamp nearest to the housing to get it out. I could hear the bulb starting to break inside the housing nearest the lamp base. It requires patience and time shimming the bulb out.

OK, I did that, and it worked, and I put in a new bulb. What I am wondering is why the new bulb did not go on when I connected it. Shouldn't it have?

In this newly constructed home. It was due for replacement, but the bulb got crushed and remaining piece has to be pulled in piece meal! Bottom piece with 4 metal prongs is still in place! I don’t know how to take that out. Frustrating!

Piss poor design for sure. Your video chased away a lot of frustration. Keep trying folks took me a while.
