I know this is a bit necroing an old video (well, depends on what you define as old though..), but just wanted to ask are you useing the official 5, 1V 2, 5A raspberry power supply / charger? I saw a video earlier saying that the 3B+ is WERY picky on power supply; so much as 50% on certain benchmarks. I'm updating my NAS as I type, but luckily my old one was a 1gen pi, so I assume/hope that still should be a real update...

Your problem is that the ethernet and usb ports are on the same bus, so it's sharing the bandwidth pipe

if usb controller is supposed to limit network interface to 300Mb + tend to all hard drives, wouldnt 5GHz wifi be actually faster? Did you test/measure this option at all? Did anything change over following months(like driver update coming out)?
