Raspberry Pi Vs Arduino Uno: Which Board is Better for You?

In this video we take a look at the Raspberry Pi vs Arduino and which one is best for certain tasks.

These two devices are often compared of being quite similar but in fact are very different.

Both the devices have their pros and cons these are covered in the video. We will briefly list some highlights below.

The Arduino is known as a microcontroller board, these boards are designed to run small programs and interact with devices. They don’t feature an operating system but are able to interact with sensors, devices and execute code a lot faster.

The Arduino is very barebones so you will find that I don’t have any networking support, USB ports or anything you will find in a typical computer.

The Raspberry Pi on the other hand is a mini computer and needs an operating system in order to run. It features everything you will find in a normal computer is very cheap. This makes it perfect for cool little projects and stuffing around with.

Since the Raspberry Pi features everything a computer does you get networking straight out of the box. This means you can setup your Pi so you can remotely access it from in the house or whilst on the go.

One of the biggest things you will need to keep in mind when choosing between the Raspberry Pi and the Arduino is what projects you plan to do with it. The Arduino is better suited for electronic projects whilst the Raspberry Pi is better for software projects.

I hope this video has helped clear up a lot of questions on the Raspberry Pi vs Arduino debate. If you like the video and would love to stay up to date, then please make sure subscribe to the channel!

In a nutshell, Arduino for circuit based projects, raspberry pi for software based projects. Boom. saved you 5 minutes.

Is he speaking by inhaling so that the microphone in his stomach can capture what he speaks?

Thanks, this was very helpful, and I now know that I will need an Arduino.

Would really like to see a project where the Rasberry PI is passing data to and from an Andrino board vie Ethernet.

+Pi_my_life_up you mentioned that both can be together used for complex projects, but how??? Any example???

since i want control a robot with a computer :
must i make my robot walker around a arduino than control the arduino with the raspberry ?
is that easy with interfaces to sale & tutorials for use ?
what about cc3d chip compared to arduino ?
actually im not codder nor electronic engineer just hoobyst customiser goblinoid
i got some .lua knowelge from game modding & welding+mecanic tools then plan to buy a 3D printer(ready to use) for make cranks gears & complex parts

Hey, liked the video. You mention that the Arduino is "better" at interacting with other devices, because of it's simple architecture. I'd like to know, what makes it better? Can it do it faster? Is the programming language easier to pick up? Assuming you know your way around linux/raspberry pi, why would one choose to spend the same amount of money on a board that is capable of less? Thanks for the extra input.

Can you interact with them with tablets and android phones? I like doing projects with dc motors    and leds so Ill take the Arduino since I'm a beginner.

HI, Im going to do a project name " Automatic Recycling Sorter Dustbin" which the main function is to sort out the waste materials automatically using sensors. Could you give me some ideas which should be my choice of MCU for my project?
Thank you

Oddly enough, i am coming to this debate from an IT background, the Arduino is much more.... intimidating to me then the Pi.

That was a 5 minute long run on sentence.
