Destiny 2 - ECHOES ENDING! Conductor's Finale and New Cutscene

Today we have the conclusion to Episode Echoes in act 3! A new version of the Encore mission reveals the rampage of chaos caused by the Conductor and a new cutscene raises questions about the future of the Echo and Maya Sundaresh! Let’s breakdown this week's story!

I don't like that we are forced to run this tedious exotic mission to continue the story and the epilogue.

It’s poetic in a sad way that we’ve seen with 3 versions of Maya, the OG, Lakshimi, and the Conductor, and all 3 versions did the same thing. Obsess with one experiment/goal to the point of degradation and self destruction.
Also, Saint yelling “I make my own fate” and beating Maya with a shield reminds me of VoG having a dialogue when you go to damage Atheon saying “Guardians make their own fate”.

Seeing that Cutscene made me wish that Bungie would animate the Guardian to use their own respective super.

For example, if your running Golden Gun, either version, you will use it and pop a single shot into the Conductor.

Or Needlestorm, Blade Barrage, and Chaos Reach have you jumping backwards and casting the respective one.

Sure, they might have to change some of the animation outside of the Guardian, but at least we wouldn’t just be sitting there.


Furthermore, I wish the Guardian was the only one to not be controlled by the Echo, simply being too powerful for it. Conversely though, Maya uses vex infrastructure or some other means to trap us and lock us down at least temporarily while she tried to control Ikora and Saint. It would still be a powerful scene for the two, but it would also show just how powerful the guardian has become.

Ah another lovely cutscene of the guardian who beat the witness not doing jack sh*t to stop Maya, then easily gets taken control of. Nothing destroys the immersion of a power trip more than that

instead of stand and talking with her in 12:12, a hunter should use a golden gun with CELESTIAL NIGHTHAWK and end it quick and easy

I’ll never understand how bungie thinks it’s ok to setup interesting villains that don’t do much and when they die, everything is magically the same as it was before they showed up.

This seasonal story was just bad. No other way to put it.

I still havent't completed the first Encore Exotic Mission, and I fear I can't solo it. I hope it will still be there when the second Echo story begins, and nothing is lost (hopefully).

So even though they managed to find the original Chioma who gave herself to the Vex at the end of her life, Maya still rejected her with Chioma horrified at what Maya had become. Osiris's fear was made true and Maya isn't stopping her obsession. While Maya isn't truly defeated she escapes into the Vex net carrying the echo with her. I imagine she'll be back and she'll be better prepared compared to this time.

Maya is mainly a scientist and not a fighter and I am guessing the Echo of Command she has does what the Echo is named for, having dominion over the living but that is weird when she is against individuals who are stronger than she is. With that in mind while underwhelming her getting knocked out very easily shows she is all brains no brawn. I imagine for a proper boss fight against her it would be in the Black Garden if she worms her way into there where unlike in Nessus she will have all the Radiolaria she can experiment with and full control over the Vex. A proper boss fight against Maya would be her creating a powerful Vex Mind that is defeated non-stop until she is worn out or runs out of Radiolaria and can't make anymore Vex.

Not sure how the Episodes will conclude but the next one is the return of Fikrul who becomes the new Lord of the Scorn and gains power over the dead through the Echo he found.

Something that I noticed was that during this weeks rendition of Encore, we go head to head with a Cabal Valus during the final boss fight against Paldoros. I forgot their name, but it was something that included the word "compelled, " similar to the Vex that were pawns of Sundaresh. I wonder how or why this random Cabal ended up a servant of the Conductor. I thought only the Vex were completely controlled.

So much missed potential. Asher Mir could have been brought back, an actual fight would have been better than such a weak cutscene, and all of this buildup over weeks and weeks for absolutely nothing. Nothing new was revealed, no villain worth their salt, just "bad guy is bad"

Ok so I have a feeling the conductor will be seen again. Pay attention to the secret chest dialogue. One of the lines talks about refuge in a pink sky planet....and what did they just show in the concept art for Frontiers?

The Conductor could have done so much worse for the sake of the powers she had, but jesus did this story suck so much. If she had powers over time like the vex, it would have been all too easy to get what she wanted from the vex network in seconds. There was so much missing it felt like you're gasping for air to get rid of the symbolisms that ruined the story itself.
