This really resonates with me man. I recently had 4 back-to-back surgeries and it felt like my whole world turned upside down while my peers progressed in theirs. But my journey has given me a mindset where it doesn't matter what happens in my life, I just enjoy the process of living. And like you said, I'm more curious.
