I have degrees in physical and cultural anthropology and history. Many of these scientists refuse to even examine evidence outside previous theories, the reason in large part is they would have to admit everything they learned, taught or published is wrong, their whole belief system and career is wrong, it's a big step. perfect example was Viking settlement was found in Newfoundland, absolute rock solid proof yet it took most of academia 20 freaking years to accept it.
Another example is numerous geologists stated the sphinx has to be at least 7000 years old, Egyptology argued for years that's impossible since no sign of civilization before about 5000 years there, then this year under ancient Abydos a much older Abydos dates 7500 years old, yet they still will not even accept the possibility Sphinx is that old also.

The monte verde site in chile is interesting, and might be some fun reading for anyone interested in the topic. I've always felt the mainstream was wrong on this one. Considering the most interesting dig sites would all be under water by now, it seems silly to base books and anthropology classes on things we find inland.
