If you've completed the quests in Melve and the trader is gone, there's an alternative. There's the original outpost from the very beginning of the game that has a merchant with a slightly lower inventory of grapes and apples.

The reason the apples and grapes prices go up is due to the ingame story and how the beastmen live primarily in the desert area where they can't grow crops like fruits and vegetables.
While playing the pawns will even talk about the beasties once owning parts of the northern land where crops could be grown.
Since they have to import fruits it would cost more that way so the devs purposely put the inflation price in there where you sell certain items that are rare to certain areas, they also did the same thing with certain stones as well.

PSA: If you have completed the evacuation of Melve, in Harve Village there will be a trader that will sell the apples and grapes called Mia, she is dressed as a wandering merchant but never leaves the village and stays close to the inn or beach. Furthermore if you get high affinity with her she will gift you with the Hawker specialization tome for your pawn.

You can reverse this and increase your profits as well. Figs and quinces sell for more in vermund. Just load up in each territory before traveling, make money both ways.

Also, the valuables like onyx and jasper work the same way. They sell for a couple thousand if sold in the right territory.

Another Important tip! make sure you don't have a pawn with Logistician in your party, if you do they'll attempt to turn the apples/grapes into dried fruit without your realising, this caught me out for about 15 mins when I first started doing this.

kind of a sidenote tip, but if you haven't done the magistrate quest yet and still have the infinite gaol key, you can make a forgery of it at the scrap store and then give brant back one and just have an infinite key.

I don't think it's a glitch it's the same with gems like the tiger's eye it's worth more in different places and the game tells you that and its a desert, fruit would be worth more go fig.

Anyone getting flashbacks to the moldy carrot “glitch” in the first Dragon’s Dogma?

guys you see the merchant behind his character? Her name's Mia. she comes and goes from Melve. while she's there if you interact with her she can sell you 3 additional apple and grapes respectively. just follow his method but add her to the list. should speed things up. Oh and buy from her enough times and Mia gives you the Hawke specializaton

You can get a port crystal from doing the elf archery quest as well, which is pretty easy. Hope this helps!

I wouldn’t consider it a glitch, maybe an exploitation. In Dragon’s Dogma 1 there was a vendor in the first Cassardis (your starting village) that sold a huge amount of carrots every day. If you slept a few days the carrots would get moldy which more than doubled their value. You’d sell them, buy more carrots, sleep a couple of days, rinse and repeat until you were a millionaire which took far less time than this technique. There’s a lot more effort in what you showed so I don’t think they should patch it, which is what happened to the DD1 carrot exploit. After the first time she would only sell 2 or three carrots, which wouldn’t make it worth the effort.

Buying Tea in china and then selling it in England. Standard commerce. Good video!

prolly be faster and less likely to muck up if you put the fresh apples in storage as soon as you buy them, until you get a max stack, then just ripen the entire stack at once. at the very least, it'll make it easier for you to keep track.

This is no glitch at all. You just discovered how demand works. There are items, that sell better in some areas. Fruit from Batthal will sell better in Vermund. Same goes for some of the jewels you can get.

You actually dont need to "stand up" from the chair, just when the new scene appear, press C immediatly and it will skipp again, do again until next morning

One way i thought of if you want to get all the apples & grapes to rippen at the same time is to put them in storage right after you purchase them, then once you got enough you're satisfied with when you get ready to sell them pull them all out of storage and past time to make them all rippen at the same time. It's not efficient, but it will keep you from missing out on fruit that doesn't rippen with the rest.

I think its not a glitch and in fact that its rare in Batal which is why its worth so much. But very good guide that I will definitely try.

For those like me who made the mistake of advancing too far in some quests and have both the Batthal shopkeeper and the Melve people gone, you can still do the same trick using the Nameless Village instead of Melve (shopkeeper sells 4 apples and 4 grapes there), but you have to include a trek back to Venworth once you're done stacking fruits, to buy a ferrystone.
