Question is, what happens if the rhetoric becomes a reality?

Putin, I kind of suspect that on occasion you view these social media sites so here's a message for you in the spirit of one man to another with neither one of us being perfect, in my opinion. If, or it now looks when, you "get handed your hat" while exiting Ukraine, it would be best for you and everyone else concerned that you exit as circumspectly as you can which would include abandoning any further talk of engaging in a nuclear confrontation that no one can come away from the winner. This whole ill engaged "confrontation" with Ukraine has gotten the best of you and sometimes a man just has to walk away with having not being the better man. Kind of like the character Godfrey in the movie "Rob Roy" who lost a match against one who seemed to be no match but when he was bested, he almost turned backstabber, if it weren't for an admonition. So, heed this admonition that is offered respectfully, leave Ukraine without being a backstabber.

Putin was responding to the UK prime minister Liz Truss who expressed a desire to use nuclear weapons on russia.

You can't blame Putin for responding to the prime minister about the use of nuclear weapons on his country.
The talk of using nuclear weapons did not start with Putin it started with the prime minister. So if you want to complain about using nuclear weapons you need to talk to her. If you don't want to risk a nuclear war, Maybe we don't Supply weapons or money to Ukraine in a proxy war against russia. We can treat Ukraine like we treat Yemen, like we treated Rwanda and Uganda and sometimes the way we treat Palestine. Stuff happens to these countries and we do nothing. Yemen is facing genocide and we do nothing because of our economic interests. I for one do not want to be on the side of the nazis. Given Russia's history with the Nazis, I am not surprised that they are doing everything in their power to defeat the ultra nationalist fascists in ukraine. DeNazifixation...should be the goal of all counties in the world!
