Newly appointed chancellor Jeremy Hunt will make an emergency statement in a bid to stabilise the market after weeks of turmoil brought on by Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng's mini-Budget announcement.

On Monday (17 October) the Treasury confirmed Mr Hunt will issue a statement to "bring forward measures from the Medium-Term Fiscal Plan that will support fiscal sustainability."

In addition, the chancellor will then address the House of Commons later that afternoon with a follow-up message.

The statement was brought forward from the planned date of 31 October, after repeated U-turns on economic policy in Liz Truss’s first few weeks.

It’s immoral to promise the lowest earners a 1% tax cut and then take it away from them.

One BIG question that's never recognised or discussed is how on earth did the 'system' allow this mess to happen in the first place? Countries like the USA, Russia, Germany, North Korea and the UK keep 'allowing' the very worst people to become 'leaders'. Even most of the idiots that run this crazy system suffer as well. We can vote for who we like - it doesn't seem to make any difference!

There’s gonna be a lot of homeless people in the UK 🇬🇧! I’m tempted to pack up and go to the USA 🇺🇸 to live with relatives. Expense is not as bad in the USA compared to here in the UK

Don't you just love these people they spend as much as necessary when their lives are threatened by the Pandemic. But when their.own personal wealth is threatened then is the time to draw in the reins. Well the Pandemic isn't .over yet so making life more difficult for the worse .off won't help the situation.or theirs.

We have got to hope now that truss doesn't resign prematurely and force the same 3 months of turmoil that has just been inflicted on the public. And that the party has their replacement ready before the weekend.
