I HAVE SEEN SO MANY VIDEOS RECENTLY REGARDING THE TOXIC CULTURE OF LUXURY, TOXIC LUXURY CLOSET TOURS, SAYING GOODBYE TO THE LUXURY LIFESTYLE. WHY OVERCONSUMPTION IS BEING NORMALISED. IS SOCIAL MEDIA TO BLAME?

I AM AN UNAPOLOGETIC LUXURY LOVER SO WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT THIS? IS LUXURY CONTENT AND LUXURY COLLECTIONS ONLINE SHOWING A TOXIC NATURE AND AFFECTING OTHERS? CAN YOU BE INTENTIONAL AND STILL LOVE LUXURY?

WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO WATCH CLOSET TOURS? DOES IT MAKE THEM FEEL INADEQUATE OR COMING AWAY NEEDING MORE MORE MORE? IS THE HIGH LIFE TOXIC AND FAKE? OR IS IT WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE? ARE WE NOT SELF AWARE ENOUGH TO MAKE OUR OWN CHOICES? DO WE NOT REALISE THAT THESE ARE ONLY THINGS AND THINGS DO NOT BRING HAPPINESS. LET'S EXPLORE THIS FURTHER!

I would never take advice from Anna Bey. She built her business around teaching women/girls how to dedicate their lives to entrapping a wealthy man to secure their wellbeing and bestow their value upon them instead of trying to be authentic and increase our inherent value. THAT IS TOXIC!
Good on you for making this response video. We shouldn’t let strangers project their own issues on us.

This topic keeps going around and around in never ending circles. My answer(s) are always the same - nobody else’s business how you choose to use your money, if you can afford it, you’re not hurting anybody and it brings you joy - do it!! As my Black Country Grandmother would say, ‘Go play down your own end.’

YouTube is informational when I’m considering purchases. Otherwise it’s entertainment. It’s not that deep, people!
Your points are perfect. I’m just enjoying life and more people should lighten up.

Anna Bey is rather interesting. I'm of the opinion she has grown as a person. While her focus was initially how to get a high society spouse, she moved on to etiquette, styling and color theory, and law of attraction. I think she genuinely has moved on, whether it was because of world events or whether it was because she got married a few years ago herself. Good points about not getting caught in consumerism and she's not the only person on YouTube to have done it. At the end of the day, I think Anna is making the same point - buy what you love, not just what some influencer puts out there. Thanks for sharing!

Agreed with everything👍.
That said I'm rather satisfied with the most expensive items I have.
Now I've been spending on a house by the sea with developing an exotic garden plus filled up with old art😅. Inspiring is the word. You said it so well. Keep being inspired.
Its the excact opposite of toxic.
Never felt envy on anybody.
And definitive not on those yt'bers who buy whatever with no sense of what suits them. They are exhausting and depressing.
Not a surprise they hit a wall . Too much lying to all and themselves. Then project it on others who's into lux and quality for other reasons.
It is possible to appreciate nice things AND being both intellectual and spiritual. Glad there is still someone worth my time in here❤.

It is normal that some people don‘t understand and don‘t get the point what Anna are trying to tell us. This take time and experiences to reach that point of view in life. Some people get it and some might not forever. She don‘t tell anybody to stop enjoying their life, stop buying or do things. But just be more aware about it. She just used her case to take about it. Awearness and LOVE are two difference things. I love eating sweet things but if I keep eating them because of the reason that I love them and enyjoying my life without being awear how bad sugar is. Soon or later I will see the side effect of it. Love can sometimes get hurt if we are too blind.

You’re so right, Deb! It’s very patronizing. I feel it’s a trend to claim ‘toxicity” about said YouTube channels. A while back it was the beauty channels that were “ toxic”. I’m with you. You can love luxury, or beauty products or whatever without engaging in toxic behavior. You can enjoy things without becoming obsessed with them.

Deb, your videos are always a breath of fresh air. 🍃 The depth you bring to the discussion around the culture of luxury consumption is thought-provoking and so timely. Your insights remind us all that true satisfaction and happiness come from within, not from material possessions. I particularly appreciate how you highlighted that everyone has their own unique reasons for purchasing luxury items, which resonated deeply with me. Keep bringing content like this, Deb. You're not just sharing knowledge about luxury goods; you're teaching us how to be more mindful and content consumers. 🌟

I don't watch Anna Bey but I'm skeptical when someone makes a complete 180 and is now sharing their new found insight/enlightenment. It's tough to generalize about any of this. People are complex and make decisions for reasons they may not even know. I guess anything can be toxic if taken too far and if it becomes a preoccupation. For myself I can appreciate luxury and beautiful things but I don't need to acquire and own everything I find beautiful. You seem like a very balanced person Deb. We all have our quirks and I try to keep an open mind and with age, I value experiences far more than objects. Don't get me wrong though. I love a fine Italian pair of boots or a gorgeous piece of jewelry however, I try to be deliberate and mindful about what I choose to buy. Love your channel Deb. Keep buying what speaks to you. xx

Good morning Hun, You never fail to raise valid points. I love bags but I come here for your logic….ex luxury YouTubers still talking about luxury….that tickled me because I was thinking this too! 🤔

Stay in your happiness and have great Hun! 😘

I had never heard of Anna Bey before this video. I watched the linked video but I didn't find it preachy or judgmental. I think she has experienced a change of philosophy. She was speaking of her own self exploration and experience. I didn't feel that she was trying to convert anyone. The clips of previous videos do seem to show that she was out of control and looking for happiness in things. The YouTubers I enjoy(like you, Nick, Amelia Rose etc.) have thoughtfully curated collections. I am turned of by the overwhelming hoarders calling themselves "collectors"

Fortunately never watched Anna Bey before..the one thing I agreed with in her video is the shiny object syndrome..that can positively be triggered by watching too many Yters. It’s good in a way that these toxic shoppers are now realizing their worth and are hopefully educating others who may have been influenced by them.

Why can’t we just believe in balance? Why does everything need to be a swing of the pendulum? I agree. A lot of these sound like personal problems that the majority of the audience doesn’t even have most likely lol.
