I’d like to applaud both of them. The Tau for getting that close, and the Space Marine for restraining himself just long enough for the Tau to “use” the blade

Gotta give credit for the lil guy. He had the balls of steel to craft a melee weapon BEFORE an astarte and even tries to fight in melee where others hide behind cover

Back when we had an initiative step, Tau had Initiative 2. Literally the same as rusted out necrons. It is said that to a human Tau are moving in slow motion. To an Eldar, it looks as though they are standing still. For reference a normal guardsman has Initiative 3 (higher initiative means you are faster).

To be fair I doubt that sword would have even pierced that space marine's armor but I give him credit for being brave.

That's the most praise worthy of Tau for attempting to engage in melee instead of attempting to retreat back to range
