In this video we look at the effectiveness of (Russian copy of) East German M58 Flachtarnenmuster aka Blumentarn camouflage pattern. We will be testing this Camouflage in a heavily vegetated Woodland Environment in north Texas. This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of the video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps just my head, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering.

That is a really good camouflage! When you were in shadows, the camo did not become unnaturally dark and easy to spot. When you were in sunlight, the camo was not too bright. The camouflage really showed its effectiveness when there was something to break up your silhouette. A few times it was only your gear belt that gave away your position. Brent, thank you for showing this.

I think you should add at the end, what you think of it, and how it works in real life at like 200-300 meters. Love the work, great job!

This pattern works SO well that I can go back in some scenes after you reveal your position and still can't see you. This is insanely good camouflage.

the demonstration at 7:46 really got me. looked right at you and then said "no wait, that's a stump". this pattern is really effective. all but two of these examples had me saying "i'll be damned" when it was time for the reveal. great video as always!

That belt gave your position away a few times. It strands out. The rest however works great. This is another one of those that plays with the light and dark spots from the sun making it hard to focus in on. I love these videos. Really helps me understand both how these patterns work and how my eyes work.

Very good the Colour pattern matched the woodland Foliage and court the rays of light just right for an older camouflage quite surprising For it’s affectedness even in deep shade. I thank you bro 🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧

This one seems to work astoundingly good, i might use it for a scout-loadout when playing airsoft.
Just need to find a german outfitter with this camopatern.

Looks like it should be good but, very unusually, could spot him almost instantly everytime except twice...shape and surface attracted the eye instantly.

hi guys, the real name of the camouflage is " Flächentarn " oder " Blumentarn". Original are rare ( and i am a eastgerman guy .. NVA its my passion ) greatings from the good old eastgerman

Originale und fast ungenutzte tarnkleidung ist fast blaugrau im Farbton, viele Jacken und Hosen sind stark ausgewaschen. Die originale Farbe erkennt man nur noch wenn man in die Taschen schaut.
