How to Catch Redhorse Sucker- Sight Fishing River Fish

The spawn is almost done for suckers this year so get ready for some gamefish fishing such as Bass, Pike, and such as the season is right around the corner!

We went out and caught some shorthead redhorse, silver redhorse, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. A fun day on the river.

Use small hooks with a small piece if night crawler or earth worm on it. Baits such as dough, bread, corn and insects also work for redhorse.
Depending on the amount of current in your fishing area choose a suitable weight to keep your worm in place. Redhorse are bottom feeders so they search around looking for small foods items on the bottom such as grubs, larva, shellfish and more. Use a rod holder and keep you line tight as shown in the video. Usually the bites will be obvious as your rod will get big taps. Once you see the rod tip moving immediately set the hook!
