I guess I am failing to see why someone wouldn’t just buy a normal 2 piece strap that looks more finished since you removed the whole reason of using a NATO which is to have a fail safe if a spring bar breaks.

Sorry to be blunt, but that it pointless. The whole purpose of a NATO strap is to save the watch when one spring bar breaks. This strap doesn’t do that, so you may as well wear a two-piece fabric strap.

you made a longer strap to just loop it differently making it less secure. This isn't that great of an idea

One of my favorite features of NATO straps is that you don't have to remove spring bars to install them. So easy to change to a new strap every morning. Would love to see a version which can pass right through, without having to remove that one spring bar

This defeats the purpose of using a Nato. Nato straps are tool straps to avoid your watch from falling off your wrist if one of the spring bars is busted. Makes no sense.

This is like trying to get into the drivers seat in a car, but from the trunk.

3years+, you say?? I took my strap to a tailor's, had it cut and sewn. Took like half an hour.
I may be a genius.

I always cut the second strap. and I always use a single strap - because if I lose a spring bar - the other is holding the watch in place.

There's already 2-piece Nato strap out there

Bro said “what if I ripped off a CNS Paratrooper strap… and made it worse?” 😮

Also, patent pending means nothing from a legal standpoint until it’s awarded.

The primary function of a NATO strap is to prevent the watch from being lost if one of the spring bars breaks. In this “No pass” system, this factor is lost and we have a watch strap without this functionality. I don’t know if it’s worth it.

I had a spring bar snap off on a field excursion . My NATO saved my watch. NATOs aren’t about “ the look.” They are designed to save your watch in rugged outdoor activities. It was never designed for desk divers.

Honestly It looks good I get it why. But wouldn't be an hasle to wear and remove it everytime, just doesn't seem practical to me.

Ok, but the purpose of a NATO is to ensure even if one lug fails the watch is not lost. Doesn’t this mean you lose your watch now if not side fails,

But the point of a nato is security when spring bar failure occurs. You're basically complaining about a crucial feature of a nato as originally intended. A zero pass strap is not that different from a two piece nylon (looking like a nato). I appreciate the effort but this is fixing a non-existent problem.

Criticism of the NATO strap is totally unjustified. Cutting the extra strap defeats the purpose of keeping the watch away from the wrist to allow ventilation and lessen sweating. Also the watch can be stowed by reverse looping and it provides substantial cover for the front and back of the watch when kept with other items in the bag or pocket. It's the ultimate utilitarian strap.

"Never had one fail on me." Everybody knows what's a statement to regret later.

On the face of it, it's a, cool idea but when I think about it, it doesn't really make sense. We use NATO style straps in particularly rough environments and have to put up with the wierd loop and keeper at the side of the wrist as a, trade off for keeping the watch on your wrist if you lose a spring bar. There's no real point in having that awkward looking piece if you're not going to have the protection. It's better to buy a good standard canvas or nylon strap as it just looks better. Or, cut off the double pass bit or use an original single pass while still having the safety with a bit less bulk under the watch. A good quality single pass or a cut away NATO will not feel flimsy at all. What we have here is a strap that's not very esthetic but it doesn't provide the safety. It's basically an ugly looking strap with no real benefit with unnecessary bulk on your wrist for no good reason.

Not a fan of double pass natos. Single pass are amazing however. I think the beauty of a nato is being able to keep your watch safe in case of a spring bar failure.
