Observation is a non-surgical approach in which we allow the stone to pass on its own. The smaller the stone, the better the chance that it will pass. The benefit of observation is that you avoid having surgery.

I am 24 yrs old... and I have a kidney stone of 5mm on my left kidney that I just found out a few days back on 20th of April.. No symptoms except for frequent urination. No pain just very mild discomfort some times at night. Today (23rd) is the second day of medication suggested by my urologist and I've been told to come after 10 days for checkup and to do USG KUB test. I've increased my water intake.. I'm also drinking lime water(2 times a day) and apple cider vinegar water (once a day) atleast an hour before going to bed. Have reduced salt intake as well. Lets see what happens. Urologist told its small and there r chances of passing through urine, but might get stuck in the ureter too, and if that happens I will have to get it removed. Please please pray for my good health guys and I wish the same to u all. I will give update after my next visit. Tc. Stay blessed everyone. 🌻

I went through this today. When the pain started it was real and intense and did not let up. Mine was only 2mm but I guess was taking its time and my not relaxing was not helping. The ER I went to was just this amazing team of professionals. I got pain relief and it passed down to the bladder. When I got released and was given the funnel filter, the first time I used it I came face to face with the little jagged monster that ruined my day. lol. My case is the best case scenario. I am thankful that I had folks around me that were there drive me and there to care.

Had these sobs since I was 9. I’m 32 and just passed one about 8mm and didn’t feel it. Think the good Lord blessed me with nerve damage.

I’m scheduled for my 5 kidney stone surgery this week. My first stone took 2 unsuccessful blasting with stent placement. Then finally passed. A month later on opposite side the same thing happens. Larger stone this time 6 mm. Have 2 blasting and stent surgery again. Unsuccessful. Now scheduled for shock wave surgery with stent.50% chance it will work.Next is the surgery where they cut your back! Omg what a ordeal not to mention the PAIN and how uncomfortable having a stent in for a few weeks to a month. I understand anyones frustration and pain going through this diagnosis. It’s Awful. Prayers for all!

i am having a 6.2mm stone in my right ureter, used to literally tremble out of pain before seeing the doctor who prescibed me few medicines that make your ureter wider, currently having a mild pain sometimes but it's still not passed. Drinking all the water in this world (3-5l), 2 lemons a day, going jogging and doing jumper jacks as mush as I can to help the stone pass. wish me luck here, I ll make updates as they happen

I’ve had at least 12 or more in my life. Some are small enough that I will have discomfort but can still go on with my daily life. Some are extreme. I’m currently have one and hopefully it passes soon. It kept me up all night.

Kidney stones are horrible. Been having them off and on since 97. Had so many that I can tell when one starts. Worse pain that I've ever felt in my entire life. Feels like a 'crushing' muscle spasm. Funny enough walking if you can even do that, helps better than sitting.

Hot baths, heating pad. Pain killers and benadryl for helps to sleep it off while you wait. As well as downing tons of water.

I have had several stone surgeries. I am passing another stone after 2 years of not having any problems, I unfortunately lost my medical insurance so can’t go to the hospital this time. It seems like it’s coming down but it hurts so horribly, and the anxiety if it’ll pass is killing me!
