California sea hare

As a boy explored some tide pools off Palos Verdes-found a few sea hares-one of them shot ink into its pool when I stepped in the pool it was in. Startled the heck out of me. Then while climbing on the rocks grabbed for a handhold-but my thumb went into the “mouth” of a huge sea a ememeie! Was sort of gross the thing sucking my thumb! Pulled my thumb out and cambered on watching what I put my hands or thumbs on. That was the strangest feeling of my thumb being sucked!

Sea Hares are cool looking slugs or snails, and it's a good thing you put on some music, slugs and snails love music, especially Rock n Roll.

Im so curious! Thank you for sharing. Can any individual sea hare reproduce? Do they lay eggs or give live birth ? Im so curious since they are intersex and carry both male and female reproductive organs.
