Critical Role 🔥UNDER FIRE 🔥From Wil Wheaton!

Some Shocking TTRPG and Fantasy News Drama as former Critical Role guest star Wil Wheaton went after the actual play giants in a now deleted post on Felicia Day's Instragram. The man known for having the worst dice in Critical Role history apparently has some serious beef with Critical Role, as he called them out publicly, and accused them of trying to hide the role Felicia Day had in starting Critcial Role.

We'll break down the now deleted post, and just how factually accurate Wil Wheaton's grudge against Critical Role may or may not be...and look at just what kind of role Felicia Day did play in starting up the Critical Role juggernaut...and just how this former guest star went from friend of the show to ranting against Critical Role on social media!

Due to whatever bad blood there is I'd imagine that Wil hasn't watched or cared to ask about any of the more recent comments about Felicias' involvement or her contributions to the animated series and book. More than likely, it was from a place of being uninformed. Wil is very opinionated and wouldn't be surprised if it was Felicia herself that asked him privately to remove the comment

I mean... they don't tell the story every week, but its pretty well known among critters and even for a newbie like me.

The fact that Felicia Day launched them is basically the first thing you learn about CR.

Felicia Day wrote the forward for their history book. She voices some characters in LoVM. I have no idea what Wil is talking about.

I'm new to this community, only four months a critter, and even I know that Felicia Day gave them their start.

It appears the Wheaton curse affects his judgement just as much as his dice rolls.

First, everything I've seen from CR regarding Felicia has been nothing but positive and supportive. In every interview, they give her credit for putting them on G&S and have never wavered. Second, Wil has a history of rubbing people the wrong way and taking things WAY too seriously. If you've ever seen him play a boardgame with people, he's hyper competitive and a bit of a sore loser. Some may call that a schtick, but I've played enough games to believe it's real. Third, I don't believe the cast of CR are all saints off camera, but there's clearly bad blood that CR isn't putting out there but Wil has zero problems airing out in public. Lastly, I think the post was deleted because (mostly likely) Felicia (or someone else) contacted Wil privately and was like, "uncool." I hope Wil has learned from this and will make sure he stops throwing unnecessary shade.

Remember when they didn’t have her on Between the sheets, or all work no play. Remember how they didn’t have her play in campaign 1 as a guest. Remember how they didn’t cast her in LOVM as a thank you. Remember how in the casting episode for LOVM they didn’t EXACTLY CALL OUT THE FACT THEY EXISTED BECAUSE OF HER. Come on Weaton.

What a weird thing to start a fight over

There's literally no bad blood between CR and Felicia Day. They include her in so much and even on non-CR jobs where their paths cross, they've been friendly. Some of them were in Stray Gods together and you could tell they were friends. She's in LoVM at their behest, ect. Didn't Wheaton take this energy with the Picard/Next Gen cast out of nowhere. It seems he struggles when he feels he's slipping into irrelevance. He's always going to be a huge part of pop culture, hope he finds whatever peace he needs.

Wil Wheaton is his own worst enemy. He's always come across as a bit of a bitter person.

Wil Wheaton is the embodiment of that feeling you get when you drunk post something that seemed like a good idea at the time but definitely wasn’t and wake up in horror the next day realizing what you’ve done.

I have literally never heard them talk about how they got started without mentioning how it was because of Felicia

Wil broke his own #1 rule.... "Don't be a dick"

Idk, CR makes it pretty obvious that she gave them their start. She's heavily involved in almost everything they do, continually.
Just cause they're not singing her name from the rooftops doesn't mean she's not appreciated.

So...has Critical Role not done enough to let critters know how Felicia helped them...or has Wil Wheaton gotten way out of line? Let us know!

I always thought CR made it known that Felicia Day brought them on. I didn't think this was in question. But also I thought WW was on good terms with them too. So...damn.

Wil sounds kinda condescending towards Felicia tbh. She's an adult woman and an experienced professional - if she thinks there's a battle to be fought publicly, she'll speak up, and THEN Wil can support her. Him just deciding she needs or wants his protection is weird

This makes me very curious to know what his bad blood with CR is. That last visit has always stood out to me, and not because it was an important boss fight.

... Wasn't she in the legend of vox machina season 1? Not a huge part but she was still there, and they interviewed her in between the sheets a few years ago. If new critters aren't aware of that fact that's one thing but it's not like CR has been deliberately denying her credit.
