If any of you are reading this comment and have never snowboarded before read this.

1) Snowboarding is hard. It is also very fun. Before you invest in good equipment rent the equipment first.
2) None of these videos will show you how to snowboard until YOU actually try it. You can't just watch a video and be good.
3) You will get hurt. Today was my first time going and I had 3 big falls on my left shoulder.
4) Partners can show... not teach. If you have a good friend/partner sure go ahead and ask them but you gotta do it.
5) You have to take the risk. You have to start somewhere.
6) No one cares if you're bad at snowboarding.
7) *NEVER* have your board going straight for more than 4 seconds (downhill). In the video they say toes and heels. You always have to be on one of them.
8) heels are easier than toes. If you are new start off with heel. To control heel put the side of the snowboard you want to go facing 45 degrees.
9) *ALWAYS* wear a helmet.
10) There are two way to snowboard (regular) or (goofy) To figure out which one you are imagine kicking a soccer ball, whichever foot you choose is the foot that goes in front. If you kick with your right foot you're regular. If you kick with left you are goofy.
11) Whenever you fall get back up. Stay persistent.

Also if your a board rider ( surf, skate etc ) you going to find this easy to learn very fast, like any board riding once you learn to control your speed you’ll be doing tricks on the snowboard quicker then you realise
Enjoy the powder pppl 🤘

I had my first lesson yesterday, I kept practicing after it was over for about 2 hours. I fell so hard at one point, I sunk my toes and fell forward and I hit the snow so hard with the right side of my chest, I thought I was going to die there, all I could do was laugh lol. you make it look so easy.

I'm not even a beginner I just love your channel xD

An overview for beginners:
Step 1: Heel side slide - sliding down on your heel edge, lifting/dropping your toes to control your speed
Step 2: Toe side slide - sliding down on your toe edge, lifting/dropping your heel to control your speed
Step 3: Heel edge side-to-side (AKA falling leaf) - leaning to the left, or to the right when you're sliding down.
Step 4: Toe edge falling leaf - equivalent of Step 3, but a bit harder because you cant see down the hill. Same idea, just sliding left and right down the hill.

These 4 steps are crucial as you learn how to STOP and how to control the snowboard angle/edge-control on your board without "catching an edge" and falling over. Its all about shifting your weight. Take your time to learn these steps and do not skip them. Once you get comfortable with those 4 steps, congratulations, you can start learning how to turn!

Step 5: C shape turns - going from heel edge to toe edge, or toe edge to heel edge. Its essentially an extension of Step 3 & 4. You continue to turn and look and lean the direction your want to turn. Remember to turn your hips and really engage your whole body. The board should go from on the edge, to flat temporarily when you're going down the hill, and then back onto the other edge. This can be very confronting at first, as for the first time, you will start to pick up speed (when the snowboard is flat and going down the hill!). Most people instinctively react by leaning back/towards the slope, which is the opposite of what you want and will actually make you more likely to fall! Trust your instructor and trust the skills you have already learnt, and you'll be able to make C shape turns before you know it!

Step 6 S shape turns : Once you're comfortable doing C shape turns, you can then start linking your C shapes -> 2 C shapes = an S shape turn. Congratulations, you can now snowboard!!

These tips helped so much for my first time ever! I'm a late beginner and thought I wouldn't be able to handle it, but nailed it. Can't wait to make it out again.

Never had the chance to learn this stuff as a kid, got older and realized I wanted more than anything to be able to do this kinda stuff with my friends. Also want to learn Alpine, something else I've never done.

Note of inspiration that has worked for me for learning new things in the past: It is NEVER too late to learn something new, and you should always have something in each stage of your life that is new and exciting, it'll keep things fresh.

Thank you for the video!

GREAT explanation ! Actually, my motto is that if you are sweating, then you are doing it wrong! I am descending in such a relaxed manner, even at high speeds I'm not consuming too much energy. I let my body do all by controlling my center of mass, exactly as when riding a bicycle, when you speed up, you use the bicycle to catch your center of mass so you don't fall, but if you stand still on a bicycle, you will fall. All I do is to lean back and forth catching the center of mass. This gives birth to that river flow motion, which the body dictates. I call this an ART ! Cheers !

Thanks so much and giving a shout out from here in Nevada, USA, for such a simple yet informative video Kevin! You should visit Tahoe and its many resorts soon (My first day was at Mt Rose!)
