John 'The Miller' Power - The Man Who Drank The Farm

This song comes from the pen of singer songwriter Mickey MacConnell and although it’s not a Waterford song I have included it as it has been received so well by local people since John’s version became so popular on social media. To be fair the song could be from any county really, as there’s probably not a village in Ireland than doesn’t have someone who didn't have a go at drinking a farm. Enjoy.

The project was produced for Waterford Greenway which connects Waterford City to Dungarvan Town back in 2006/2017. Along the Greenway, people are greeted along the route with small signs which tells them about each song and where they can listen to it.

The project was commissioned by The Heritage Office of Waterford City and County Council and was launched in Kilmacthomas Primary School in June 2017. These films were originally recorded and produced on DVD by Michael Fortune.
