This amiable, soft-spoken good ol' boy from tiny Bee Cave, Texas loves barbeque, guns, and higher education. Natural curiosity, ten years as a roughneck in the west Texas oilfields, and eleven hard science PhDs have trained him to design, build and repair a variety of deadly contraptions.

The least threatening grunt is completely recontextualized knowing he’s actively threatening the administrator from the start.

Not only is the line “purviews of your conundrums of philosophy” great, it I also just realized that it’s completely in character for the Engineer, someone with 11 PhDs. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how incredibly smart Engie is
