Stereo Spectacular Demonstration & Sound Effects (1963)

I found this LP at a record show and had to check it out. I love these old stereo demonstration records for their cheesiness and as a throwback to the days when stereo sound was still something of a novelty.

This album was released in 1963 on the original Audio Fidelity label. It is not the same company who have released audiophile pressings of classic albums in recent years. Side one is a continuous 20 minute piece featuring sound effects and excerpts of songs appearing on other Audio Fidelity albums.

My specs:

Recorded using Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable with internal preamp removed and an AT120E cart. All records are cleaned on a VPI 16.5. I use Adobe Audition CC for recording and processing. Clicks are removed manually with a light filter used sparingly.

II'm quite emotional about finding this record here on Youtube. We were trying to find this one because this is really a masterpiece for my family as well and I can see in the comments that it has/had an interesting connection with children, how we as kids LOVED this record. Wow! I never thought I'd hear this again! My Grandpa had this on reel to reel, but his began with "Realistic Audiophile Series Presents..." I used to listen to this all the time in his basement when I was a kid. Brings back a lot of childhood memories.

I used to have this vinyl but I'm pretty sure my father bought it in the 70s. Used to listen to it almost everyday. Had such a great time with the stereo effects and some of the funny stuff.

This LP has a different intro with a new narrator mentioned “Marquette Stereo”, and I know what Marquette Stereo was. There was another version of the intro that says “Realistic, Audiophile Series presents”. The original says “Audio Fidelity Records presents”.

Had this LP once. Somewhere deep in the album notes The Big Band is given credit. And I think the tune is American Bordello. Can you confirm who the band or tune is? Thanks for posting.
