With apple tv and a dolby capable sound bar all youtube videos play in dolby digital plus 2.0- compressed but it still sounds amazing and thats not even the full atmos experience.

I am totally aware that YouTube only outputs in stereo. I didn't upload this for you to experience Dolby Atmos on here, but to give you a hint on what Atmos may sound like if you are considering to upgrade to an Atmos capable receiver or managed to get hold of the demo disk to experience it's full potential. Now when I watch this on YouTube I have my receiver set to 5.1.2 Ch including 2 Height speakers and to 'Dolby Surround' sound field and what I get is a satisfying clean output of virtual surround through all the speakers. Funny how hardly anyone asked how to get hold of the demo disk and even funnier how instead many asked questions like 'what's the name of the movie?' when it is clearly written in the description and displayed at the end of the clip and comments like 'this is not Atmos' or 'YouTube only outputs in stereo'. Try to look on the positive side of things, like how clean the picture and sound are and having the privilege to watch it for free. I guarantee you'll appreciate the moment even more.

I don't understand. I have a headset with a virtual 7.1 surround made by a proprietary software. I also have Dolby Atmos for headset. And this video does not require any of these software to feel the senstion of sound moving in the place. Do I really need them for Dolby Atmos aplications like games or just my stereo headphone? Does Dolby Atmos software add this effect in games or movies which were not made with it into? I mean, using both these software with this video the only change is the sensation of loudness. All the space effects of the sound seem to be built in the audio of this sample. Then, if dolby atmos for headphones does not create the effect and I get the effect of the movies that has it despite of using or not any software, what is the point of the softwares?

Any Home theatre experts out there please help me where would the sound of that Lizard moving would be coming out from? Would that be from the sub woofer? The reason i am asking this question, in my set up its kind of coming as very feeble from my center channel, so wanted to confirm if that should be ideally coming from a sub woofer or not? I had seen many other home theatre demos where the same sound reproduced with much higher volume than what i am hearing from mine. I dont have a sub yet in my system. So any input would be appreciated?
