IGN News - Ustream Not Exclusive to PS4

Ouya ships next month!

Ustream is on PlayStation 4, but the company's CEO tells IGN that it's certainly not exclusive to PS4 in the console space.

Gaikai is used for streaming games that you can play like with OnLive. Ustream is used for streaming videos and I think it has chat capabilities as well.

I think it would be a neat thing to be able to be talking to your friend on mic and be able to react together. Maybe if you don't have a game that your friend just got too. I would personally love thing in certain games.

its not copying when it comes to announcements because:
1: they probably planned it to be this, WAY before the ps4 announcement if it is to me true
2. the xbox is expected to be announced in april and if microsoft is able to just throw in livestreaming into a console withing 2 months after the ps4 announcement, that would be kind of amazing

Somewhere in the $400-450 dollar range for each would be perfect. It would show that the hardware is worth it at an affordable price. I was pleased with the conference. The social media aspects didn't appeal to me as much. The fact that Sony had asked for developer input and made the console more accessible impressed me the most. (No load times and playing your games as they download) And its actually going to have games. I really wanna see that MS has in store come E3.

When they announced it I was wondering why they didn't do Twitch TV instead. Maybe it didn't work out or MS is doing a partnership with them instead.

No, just in general the price was more affordable for younger kids and adults. That and the PS3 had no games when it launched.

Yeah I think income plays a large role, lower incomes in this area. I teach high school, but Ive also asked middle school kids and they say the same. 360 is just the popular thing here I guess, but the 360 did target the younger audience much better than Sony. Price, Online experience, games like Halo were big things for teens.
