For over a week, we've known for certain what we've long assumed: PlayStation 4 is real, and it's coming out later in 2013. Obviously, the fact that new hardware is on its way raises all sorts of exciting possibilities, but it also draws into question the future of PlayStation 3.

I've had my PS2 since Christmas 2001 and I still play it every now and then, so I'll definitely be keeping and regularly playing my PS3 once I get a PS4, especially seeing as I have so many games for it and there are still some great games yet to come out for it.

HDMI cables will come standard equipped for ps4, Wii U, 720, etc

it is 2019 and I am still playing PS3 only ... just upgrade the HD to 1 TB and downloaded all the great games ... don't really need PS4

I still play games on my ps2 and will do so until the KH HD collection comes out this fall and possibly beyond that like, one last playthrough on KH II and completing Persona 4 which I bought "last year".
Yes, I will continue to buy and play games after the ps4 is released and I've bought it

It's a great strategy to not have backwards compatibility with the PS3. It means more sells for sony, and for the ones that haven't or recently bought a PS3 it means there is still support for the console. Nice one.

Shuhei Yoshida, sony's President of Worldwide Studios said that they might be able to let people play digital games that were bought in the psn store but not retail games, and also there are also thinking about putting an emulator.

Don't forget The Last Guardian, one of PS3's most anticipated titles has yet to get an official release date. There's also Rockstar's Agent, though it wouldn't surprise me if at this stage they made that into a next-gen title.

I read some where that it will be between the 450 to 550 range with different memory choices

Since the PS4 isn't going to be backwards compatible I'm definitely keeping my PS3 if I get a PS4. Plus there are still some games that I want on the PS3 that I don't have yet.

Since I play fighters on PS3 I'm gonna keep it. Since games like UMvC3 and SF4 and more are still played competitivly on PS3 I'm keeping mine

the ps3 will still have alot of attention from me this year with a shit load of installments in some of my most played/favrite game series coming out. bioshock, god of war, gta, gt6, ac4, a new f1 game, maybe a call of duty game but ive fallen out of love with cod lately. 2013 is gonna be a great year and i wanna comapre it to 2011 when its december and see which year had the better releases. just think how many good/great games came out in 2011!

If the PS4 is £400 or cheaper im going to buy it, however I need to see a strong line up of launch titles, im hoping Final fantasy versus XIII is renamed to XV and becomes a launch title for PS4.

Asif they didnt mention GTA V in the upcoming games segment. Most anticipated game ever!

i still have a ps2...ironically enough i have 3 versions of Okami on PS2 Nintendo Wii and the recent PS3 version...it's really whether or not the games you like will be forwarded on to the younger platforms...it's most likely not but it can happen

50:50 on the ps3 games not to sure its really a hard decision right now the only thing that concerns me is the killzone shadowfall that game looks to be hype.

Bought my ps2 fat back in 2000, and its still going hard in 2013! then I bought my first 360 pro in 2005 then it got the red ring in january of 2009 which sucked cuz i miss playing halo and still got my ps3 and its also still going strong! idk man but the ps2 is just beast its a very well build console :)
