On CUE005 we turn to Cueca Recordings label head Jonathan David for an original production release. Over the years Jonathan David has released on some of the most respected underground house music labels around. His unique and precise style infuses organic tribal beats, atmospheric effects, and exciting transitions. In the last few years, he has received big support from DJ heavyweights Todd Terry, Chus & Ceballos, and many others. Jonathan is known to produce regularly with label partner Matt McLarrie, but on this release, he comes to us solo and delivers the original 'Black Pepper' EP.

'Black Pepper' is a sexy, classy and intelligent house music record. Combining rhythmic tribal grooves and delicious deep house chords, the track progresses into a stunning sax workout that brings it all to life. A warm rolling bass-line keeps the track grooving while the playful vocals are seasoned perfectly throughout. Expertly placed fills and Jonathan's trademark atmospheric effects gel the whole experience together. This one is House in its purest form.

On the remix, we are more than proud to welcome tech-house legend Aldo Cadiz from Santiago Chile. With Cueca's Chilean roots this was sure to be a perfect fit for us at the label. Aldo is a producer who has seen huge success on world-class labels Desolat, Snatch, Kling Klong, Viva Music, Moan, & Maya Records. He is the owner of the former Disco Royal record label in Chile and one of the most respected DJs in South America. Known for his expertly constructed Latin percussive beats, Aldo flips this original on its head by stripping the whole track back while working around the vocals to construct a chugging and bouncy rhythm. Abstract vocal effects and rave like synth fills give you a quick breather before the track returns to the addictive slamming groove. Glitches accent the whole track and lift the production to give it an edgy dance-floor vibe.
