IGNORE any comment asking for telegram contact or stating that you've won a random PC/console. Thanks!

P.S. I hate printers.

I got my A+ Certification back in 2000, and there was also a lot of questions about printers. Back then it included stuff about dot matrix printers and more in depth about the individual components of laser printers (like what the corona wire does). I think overall the A+ Cert is less about computer repair and more geared towards people wanting to be the "Office IT" guy, and offices tend to have people that have problems with printers more than their computers.

I hate trick questions like the ones from this CompTia test. The test isn't designed around a person's knowledge, but around their ability to look for the tricky keywords in the question instead. It is a test for your ability to take tests like that and not about your actual system knowledge which is what it should be.

Also, OLED gets burn in. My phones got burn-in. The burning takes awhile, but it happens.

Also, Toner is ONLY for laser printers. Not any printer.

As for the un-responsive mobile device screen, it was easily discernable as ALL OF THE ABOVE. Why? The questions are meant to be asked from the perspective of a technician who knows nothing about the device and what potential steps they would look at to resolve the problem. Not from the owner/user of the phone that knows the quirks of it and if there is a screen protector on it. It does also allow for all possible fixes which include as you mentioned the scorched earth fixes.

Otherwise, good job overall. As I said from my first statement, these tests are dumb because they are designed to include trick questions which test your ability to take a test and not your knowledge on the subject.

A long time ago, when preparing for school exams my teachers always emphasised that you read the question carefully and only start to answer once you are sure you know what the question is asking. These 2 videos have proved how important that is because a lot of the time you haven't fully understood the question, or picked up what is actually being asked.

Also I really like the lighting on set, it's really easy on the eyes

(20:54) There have been times where I have to Factory reset my Phone because it's stuck powered on with no response to touch or power button. I wish they kept the back lids for us to open the battery so we don't have to do this... Plus it's easier to replace a battery.

You guys did a better job on this test, Keep up the great content!!

Removing dust is part of servicing the device ---- but I fell for it too.

Ya gotta have thick skin if you want to be a YouTuber! I've taken CompTIA tests, and yeah they are worthless as far as proving proficiency IMHO but you can stick them on your LinkedIn page. This is good content, the test vid and the follow-up.

I'm not surprised you had issues with the POST card - even though you got it right. I started in 1995 and haven't used one since 2001. The printer stuff really made me laugh - I currently work at a print shop (still do some IT support through there) and have run commercial laser equipment since the 90's; but not everyone has that experience, so understandable.

Primary storage is RAM or the main memory for the cpu. All hard drives are considered secondary storage in the Von Nuemann architecture model, as they aren't needed for a computer to function

I once had a tech at a remote clinic send me a ticket saying the printer in our scheduling center was broken because their users were being told their print jobs were coming out garbled. Turns out the tech manually installed the printer vs mapping it from the print server and had used the wrong device driver. So I knew that questions answer right away. These videos bring back some bad memories but are also very entertaining.

I will say there are mobile devices being produced today that still have removable batteries. We've got mobile scanners at work that are essentially android phones without the phone part with removable batteries specifically so we can pop them out for troubleshooting, or when the time comes we can just replace the battery if it goes bad.

As someone who is trying to get into the IT field these videos help out a lot. Thank you Greg

That was fun to watch. It's been a while since I took a cert test, but at one point I had Comptia, Cisco, Microsoft, Citrix, NetApp, 3com, HP and a host of others.

Wait wtf. The whole leaking capacitor question is BS. A PSU has capacitors too. And you can replace them. It's dangerous as hell. But you can do it. That should be a valid answer.

Dear Greg - My old English teacher gave me a GOLDEN piece of advice- "Read EVERYTHING before doing ANYTHING." Love the videos amd will always watch when I see em.

OLED definitely has more burn in than IPS or va or TN. Even LG included an "OLED care" setting in the menu that "cleans" the pixels in cases of minor burn ins.

I'm glad I found your channel it's just pure fun. I wonder if anyone that has actually taken the CompTIA exam can confirm if it is close to this. I would've received almost perfect score. I knew the printer ones because "experience" (printers suck and always get broken lolol)

3:13 Power supply testing requires very expensive equipment. A "power supply tester" is not going to detect the vast majority of power supply problems.
