Relatable… When I was around 9 or 10, I made 5 drawings that I thought were my best drawings and character designs ever. They were 5 girls who were friends and at night, whenever I couldn‘t sleep, I thought about stories about those 5 girls and their adventures and everyday lives. Even today, if my mind and its fantasy goes crazy again sometimes at night and I‘m bored, there are stories about these girls in my head (but they evolved and are barely like the original versions anymore). I was so proud of my drawings that I hid them in a porcelain box in my closet. I was almost scared to touch them so I barely took them out. When I didn’t look at them for almost 2 years, I took them out again and I was MORTIFIED when I realised they weren’t as great as I remembered them… the anatomy is a disaster, I did a bad job at colouring, the lineart isn’t clear, in these poses they would have loads of broken bones, their facial expressions are creepy and their outfits are very boring and a bit garish. I was so disappointed and frustrated… 😂 but I also realized that this meant that my art had improved, so heads up whenever you think a drawing is bad the day after you finished it. Don‘t give up, because this probably means that your skill has improved and now you have more room for even better art.

Honestly, I think it's amazing! I can relate though. For digital drawings, I tend to flip my canvas sometimes during the sketch to catch any flaws and make sure my eyes don't get used to not looking for imperfections.

Mines always the opposite lol, I feel super critical of my art as soon as I finish it and then I open it up again later and think "ok it's not that bad, maybe I was being too harsh 😅"

It’s swapped for me. The day I make the art it looks horrible and the next day it looks amazing. But after like a week has passed it looks horrible again so idk lol. 😂
