Artist: David Bowie.
Song: All The Young Dudes.
Album: Released as a bonus track in Aladdin Sane.

Lyrics:

Billy rapped all night about his suicide
How he'd kick it in the head when he was 25
Don't want to stay alive when you're 25

Wendy's stealing clothes from unlocked cars
Freddy's got spots from ripping off stars from his face
A funky little boat race

The television man is crazy
Saying we're juvenile delinquent wrecks
But man, I need a TV when I've got T. Rex
Hey brother, you guessed
I'm a dude

All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news

All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news

Now Jimmy's looking sweet though he dresses like a queen
He can kick like a mule
It's a real mean team
We can love
We can love

And my brother's back at home
With his Beatles and his Stones
We never got it off on that revolution stuff
What a drag
Too many snags

Well I drunk a lot of wine
And I'm feeling fine
Gonna race some cat to bed
Is this concrete all around
Or is it in my head?
Oh brother, you guessed
I'm a dude

All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news
(Repeat x8)

Bowie loved, Mott The Hoople. Thats why, he offerd them, the pick, from a selection of, his songs. He offered, Suffragette City, first. They chose, All The Young Dudes. They gave a brilliant performance of it, too. Love Bowies' presence, on background vocals.❤
Big luv❤to all, music lovers❤

Bowie was really something else. I may not have been alive during his time, but I will carry on his music through my future children nonetheless. His music has such a beautiful and strong impact on my life, with it's uniqueness. I'm sure every marauders and "All The Young Dudes" fan can agree! Simply perfect and magical- he must have been a wizard!! ;)

Love Ronson’s guitar work on this. Subtle, understated and brilliant!

So happy I was young during this time and was able to experience this wonderful music when it was new. And I'm sad that this type of magic will never be repeated.

He played Dad's club in Brighton - Davy Jones and the Lower 3rd was his band before he changed the name... Sadly, I wasn't born in time to enjoy it!

The horns in the chorus play a big part in this brilliant number

How could he have given away what could have been one of his biggest hits?

Is it concrete all around or is it all in my head

I feel like this the song for the late teen years

I grew up as a kid thinking he was the one who sang it on vocals anyway.

I like to listen to the Mot The Hoople version before this, gives me an idea for a character and what his arc might lead to. Like I’m wondering if he should have a downfall where he goes kinda crazy, wins what he set out to do since the beginning but lost his humanity along the way- I don’t know why I’m typing this

I'm a straight man, knocked the fuck out by Bowie. Boogaloo too

I regret he shared song with mth. Saxophone arrangement with chorus here alone bests mth version.

I hear chorus in intro to BLACKSTAR.

Pair this with DUM DUM BOYS and you have a two song movie soundtrack.

I can see why they left this off the original album. It's somewhat subdued compared to the classic Mott the Hoople anthem.
