I absolutely agree with the difference between ICU and ER. Most importantly, nursing is so diverse so everyone can find their spot. Finally, we all work together!!!!

Girl, I'm right there with you! I grew up with two first responder parents (an EMT/ Firefighter, and a cop/firefighter), so emergency medicine has always fascinated me, and I prefer fast paced, wingin' it environments, too. As a single mama, the idea of working clinic hours as an FNP appeals to me, but I worry that family practice wouldn't give my brain enough of a challenge! Fingers crossed that we can both find some clarity soon! Thanks for the video! :)

Just prayed God would give you peace and clarity about what He wants you to do! ❤️

I love the ER too! I'm doing a paid externship in a local ED that has level one trauma. I am learning so much! I go back to my last two semesters in September. Next semester I have peds/OB in one 8 credit course. I understand why you love the ED. Always changing. EDs have good teams as well. The staff have no time for conflict because lives need to be saved!

This is so helpful! more videos of different departments in nursing bc it really helps those out who still don't know what to do during nursing!!

I did some EMT clinical rotations in ER and LOVED it too! It's so stimulating and you get exposed to so many different types of conditions. The work day also goes by pretty fast. It does feel like such a team environment. I'm starting nursing prerequisites in the fall and considering ER nursing (though I know that could always change!).

I love how open you are about changing interests through your education. It's awesome seeing how exposure to different things in the program can evolve or solidify your goals.

The ED is where its at! ER/Trauma nursing is my dream. You could always do pediatric emergency nursing and work at a children's hospital. Pediatrics is such a broad field.

I always thought about transferring into the ER and people told me i would've been good there, but I chose the ICU route at this time. glad you are liking the ER. I do agree the shifts in the ER is ideal

I went to a small hospital for medsurg clinical and there were only two patients... So, I got placed in the ED and it was flippin AMAZING!! Everything you said was EXACTLY how I felt. The team aspect, the variety, the excitement, the constant movement. It was the BEST. DAY. EVER.

yes yes yes! everything you are saying resonates with me SO much! I am stuck in between pedi and the ED, and I don't know which way to go! I graduate in May- but everything you are saying about the ED is SO TRUE!

I'm in the very beginning of my pre-med schooling before actually getting to nursing school but I love watching your videos! I'm trying to get as prepared as I can for nursing school and life after nursing school! I am like you and am torn about what area I want to work in after school, . I've always liked the idea of an ER nurse because of the "surprise" of it. Like you said, you never know what you're going to get. Plus, I like staying busy as well and on my feet. However, I also like the idea of working with cardiac patients or working in the ICU. My dad suffers from a lot of health issues, mainly heart related issues. So it hits close to home and has a lot of meaning to me. He's in the ICU a lot and mainly because of his heart and lung issues. I know the farther along I get in my schooling and when I get to clinicals, it will become more clear to me. But this video did help!

I feel the same way, I say so bad I want to be a ICU nurse but I know for a fact I don't want to be sitting for 75% of my shift I would want to be learning something new everyday and on the go!

You literally are me! I wanted to be a NICU or L&D nurse until my last semester. Now I'm in the ED and am head over heels in love with it! You are legit touching on every feeling I currently have!!

I totally understand about the high stress environment. I love it 😂 I perform best under immense pressure and the ER is perfect for it. It is amazing. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️

I'm so excited for your journey girl. You inspire me. I currently work as a Patient Support Tech and I was thinking of trying to pick up in the ED just to see what its like. I'm a little scared but I think it'll help me see what its like. I also work at a Level 1 Trauma hospital so it should be rather interesting :)

I love thinking quick my toes. I did LTC for over 4 years, and it was entirely TOO SLOW!!! I always want to learn, and I love not knowing what I'm goi go to see everyday
