Did You Know In SPIDER-MAN…

The Tobey Maguire version of Spider Man from this 2002 movie did not use shooters that shoot synthetic spider webs! Interestingly, in the original version, props were made and used in the scene in which Peter practiced shooting webs in his room. Nevertheless, when it was decided that the web fluid would be organic spider-silk flowing from his own wrists, based on a concept James Cameron had for his own Spider-Man film which never was produced, the scene had to be reshot to accommodate this change. Comic book fans were not happy with the change though, but the director Sam Raimi defended his choice, saying that having Peter shoot webs this way was more plausible than the idea that a high school boy could produce an adhesive that a big company like 3M could not make. But…

I know It goes against the comics but I'm with it. It does make a lot more sense, I'm with the director on this.

"Comic book fans were not happy"
Comic book fans are never happy.

Just saying. Without this, we wouldn’t have gotten the “Does it come from your wrist or anywhere else” scene, or the bewilderment from Holland and Garfield Peter scene

Plus organic webs make sense if you get spider like powers it should be mandatory that you get organic webs

Other Spider-Men: I can't shoot webs if my webshooters don't work.
Tobey's Spider-Man: I can't shoot webs if I'm mentally depressed...

It makes sense, imagine getting bit by a spider and all you get is the wall climbing powers

The 1990s Animated Series had a great explanation for the web shooters. The spider bite gave him instincts and the powers of a Spider. This also meant the ability to create web fluid but not organically. He was able to make it artificially and is like 2nd nature to him. So instead of giving him the power to make organic web fluid, it kinda like let him know how to make his own artificial web fluid. (Hope that made sense)

Honestly I always thought this made the most sense. It makes the ability unique to Peter.

And it worked like a charm in the movie multiverse, the other peters were astonished on how unique his organic shooters are. It gave raimi spiderman its own unforgettable identity

When I was younger I thought that was how Spider-Man actually shot his webs (I didn’t read comics) so when I saw Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man I thought it was kind of odd to give web shooter machines

Man I was saying the damn thing too when I found out he doesn't have this in the comics. I like the organic better vs having to worry bout fluids or running out mid flight or fight lol.

I think that Spider-Man being able to shoot webs himself just makes more sense than them having to use a gadget I mean spiders don't have a little robot

Sam Raimi was right to change the way Peter Parker shoots his web

Then years later, the Tom and Andrew Spideys were stunned 'cause he doesn't have webshooters.
"You can't do that, huh?"

A little context about Peter Parker:

He was as smart as the average nerd, but the Spidey-powers given to him made him a lot more smarter enough to become an inventor.

It makes way more sense imo. Got bitten by a spider and got its powers. Fair enough
