What do you guys think of the ZenBook S 16? I still need to review it properly but it definitely has a nice look to it!

I’m thankful for the CENTERED trackpad and larger screen. That’s honestly what I want the most.

Love when brands send units out and expect video coverage but "don't talk performance metrics yet" like...its a high end laptop thats literally 1 of the most important things to know

Will be interested to see how this compares to things suck as MacBook Pro 14s for content creation. And if battery life is amazing - it might be a huge yes for me as I need Windows for most atuff

OEMs are switching to 6GB RAM modules. Apple started it with the Macbook Pros and others will follow. For obvious reasons they are cheaper than 4GB modules. So, 24GB of RAM will eventually be the base in Windows as Intel, AMD and Qualcomm decree minimum 16GB. Apple, with the M4 Macbooks, likely to start at 12GB later this year.

What is the major difference between Asus S series and ZenBook line?

Thanks for the "overview" Matt. I'm a fan of ASUS products (we have several in our house) and that S16 is a gorgeous laptop.

2024 Laptops are poorly stacked; it's like a production line of R&D products and expect customers to pay for it! Totally disappointed with tech videos in YouTube advertising for all these terrible laptops! 😷

Bring back upgradable RAM. My 2018 Asus laptop is thin with both upgradable RAM and storage. And Yes I did in fact upgrade from 8gb to 16gb and noticed performance gains

it just looks so much nicer when the keyboard is centralised, with no numpad. Awesome screen too, and an SD card slot. It’s a YES for me.

I have two main requirements for a laptop:
1: non-reflective display
2: flicker-free experience

Despite #1 already failed, I still curious does the panel use DC dimming, similar to g14 2024?

Looks fantastics. Im a bit disappointed in the sub 400 nit screen. My XPS 15 9500 is between 500-550. I'd want at least that.

The new XPS 13 has a tandem OLED display and is supposed to get really bright. Shame the rest of the machine is a downgrade.

The old 'Engineering sample' excuse for not giving any numbers is so bogus.

By the time any OEM laptop has reached this stage, nothing much at all will be different from retail units in terms of performance.
