How To Become A Coach & Get Your First Client

How can you replace your 9 to 5 and build your own online coaching business?

It's the best online business to start. It's fulfilling and it's something you can start with little business experience and with just your laptop. I often get asked how to find new clients, especially when you're starting in the coaching business. It's part of a whole process, which I cover below.

Another common question that I get is if you need some sort of certification to start. I'd say no, but some industries require it. So know what industry you're going into and do the research on that.

Essentially, what you're teaching people is based on your life, knowledge, and experience. The term coaching is evolving as time goes on and the goal is to learn help people improve themselves in some way. It's about teaching and consulting people and laying out the steps for them to reach their goals.

There are six steps that are important when you're starting your own business.

1.Write out your skills and figure out what you'll be consulting on.

2. Who do you want to help? Who can you help? I have a video that I've linked below, which focuses on how to find your audience.

3. This is a fun step. Come up with sexy things that you can help a client with. Like getting a new job in a different industry or increasing their salary or helping them to build their confidence.

4. Brainstorm and go where your clients are. You can look at forums, Facebook groups, LinkedIn, where are your clients spending time? How can you get new clients on board?

5. Step five is about building your trust bank. No matter how good you are at what you do, you probably don't have a strong online presence. It's time to build that.

6. Your final step is to get out there and find clients. Get in front of your clients and give them reasons to reach out to you. Show them what you know, tell them how you can help them.

It's a really, fun and interesting process to become a coach and start getting everything set up, but having some direction is important too.
