De-escalation is a critical and life-saving skill for law enforcement.

Deputies charged with the difficult and often dangerous task of resolving tense or volatile situations can use de-escalation to reduce conflict before it develops.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office has long been teaching the practice. After receiving a federal grant, WCSO is now developing instructors based on the National De-escalation Strategies Training Center curriculum.

I recommend that the blonde Lt. in the Freeport area attend this class as she came into my home trying to get me and my son to become aggressive. As a person with a cardiac disability on oxygen, I didn't need any added stress. My son remarried calm and compliant while she continued to argue with me and degrade me by saying what a horrible role model and mother I was. She should be terminated.
