Cyberpunk by its nature is a setting primarily devoid of hope. That isn't to say there aren't some people in the setting that live hopeful, good lives, but just as I cannot speak to settings within the Witcher world we haven't seen first hand, I cannot speak to settings outside of Night City in the Cyberpunk world. At the end of it, if you play your cards right - Geralt gets a happy ending, storybook even. Cyberpunk is always varying degrees of tragedy, it is a cautionary tale for humanity.

For me, cyberpunk, it feels as if you have no control over your life, no privacy eyes are everywhere, you will lose a lot of people and you might even lose yourself

Like Mike said. The entire point of cyberpunk is that there is no saving the world. The world is already over. It's about saving yourself.

In the words of Johnny Silverhand
“I’ve seen corps strip farmers of water, and soon their land. I’ve seen corps turn Night City into a machine fueled by peoples crushed spirits, broken dreams and emptied pockets. Long they have controlled our lives, taken lots, now they’re after our souls.”

I think Johnny said it best: "Happy ending? Here, folks like us? Wrong city. Wrong people."

Cyberpunk's world is meant to be bleak in spite of all the luxuries and vices you can indulge in. All of them are just temporary reprieves from a cruel and uncaring city. There's really no textbook happy ending for anybody. Even as V, the biggest badass NC's ever seen, he's been assigned a premature death despite all the good he's done. It's especially dark when you consider that it's in the not so distant future, though the cyberware may be far-fetched, everything else about the world is basically within striking distance for us. Corporations taking over, environmental problems, soaring crime rates. It's all pretty grim.

One word, Soulkiller. Imagine being forced to live forever without a body as a digital construct

The realistic dark future that is cyberpunk is truly unmatched with brutality

I think it should be "Would you rather be living in Pacifica without insurance, or a non-human in Nilfgaard?"

The thing about Cyberpunk Universe that makes it so scary is that it's something that has the *possibility* of becoming a reality. Imagine big tech companies like Microsoft and Google having complete corporate control. Cyberpunk is scary in the sense that all this could be something that humans could do in the long run, leading to all the atrocities we see in-game. The Witcher depicts a past that was brutal, but in no way will we fear that it's something that might happen in the near future.

on the one hand, you could die from a pneumonia or getting torn in half by a random monster. on the other, you have to deal with people with guns and little sense, individuals desperate to get some cash and the occasionnal cyberpsycho, all of that without ending up in the street. The Witcher might be terrifying, but Cyberpunk wants you dead or dying.

Cyberpunk does an amazing job at encapsulating a beautiful surface layer city, the cover, while the intricacies of Night City only grow more dark and intense the deeper you travel through. The more you progress through the game the more it becomes very apparent that Night City is a tongue and cheek poke at society’s direction…in real life!!!

Cyberpunk is the most brutal because it is fellow humans, people like the ones you pass on the street. Witcher having monsters and evil spirits give a distinct line between good and evil and a common enemy. One would struggle to find wholesomeness or good in the world of Cyberpunk without a sad demise, corruption, or it being short lived.

As Geralt said himself being a witcher used to be easy, humans good monsters bad, but over time he realized humans can be worse than any monster. And in cyberpunk there are no wendigos, ghouls, or hags, only humans and most of them with no humanity.

Townships and guilds within areas are relatively safe in the Wicher, granted most are feudalisms and many suffer from poverty, and all the other problems with that system. But attacks on large towns by monsters are certainly not common place. At least not monsters that are obvious and kill on mass.
Roads and small towns can be vulnerable, however most are more likely to die from the waring army's than monsters killings generally speaking.
In the time period of the wicher it is a commented on theme that monsters are actually being sectioned off and many being hunted to extinction. There are also plages and sicknesses that are untreatable, as well as curses by monsters. But these can be solved and escaped with time and knowledge, which is growing in most civilized places.

Cyberpunk however, a corporate war would collapse country's overnight if one arouse and its assumed one is on the rise, net runners could end you awake or asleep at any time if equipped enough. The only reason the lower class exists is to run lower industries and generate money. All food is genetically modified from the little food that is still actually grown. With a high possibility the meat is mixed with this and human body's. You can modify your body to handle most conditions if you can get the money for it, but this also proves to make your human parts fail more easily In most cases or the modifications themselves needing repair or mantinace, further edebiting and relying on the companies that make them and towns that Carry them. These modifications can also aftect the mind and turn you into a mindless killer, if not you many are already out there and could wipe out everyone on your block including you. This is not to mention gangs run the street life and day to day in this world. Your likely to be killed for your cyberware just going to the store or at the least robbed. Not to mention large organization that could abduct you from your home if they have need of you In any way. If you don't beling to a clan outside the city's your just as likely to have the same things happen as well. Along with harsher conditions in the waslands ghost towns and deserts in-between.

On the whole yes I think most people would live a happier life in the wichers world even a longer one in some cases.

I think Cyberpunk is more realistic. Corporate controlled lifestyles, and the violence that comes with a city run for profit are topics that we are starting to see nowadays in America.

as dynamic as The Witcher 3 is, it's not as cyberpunk 2077, not only does cyberpunk 2077 have dates and years that we can actually experience and have already been through (example cyberpunk 2020) but the connection to our world feels deeper because of the the connection to our world in time and saying that something will happen in a year that we have yet to experience it sounds worrisome depending on what it is, a perfect example is the movie 2012 despite it not actually being a scary movie it freaked out a lot of people because it was a very feasible year that wasn't helped due to rumors and whatnot

Night city is a war zone and you see this when playing the gigs as v, if you walk throughout the map you'll see multiple people getting robbed, killed, and raped. (You don't actually see the animation but there is a gig where a girl is killed after being raped) and this is all on a daily basis with the police doing very little about it because they don't want to fight with the gangs and they are being paid off. Also another thing I should mention is that it's nearly impossible for you to live a normal life as everything is taxed so much. There is no middle between rich and poor and when you’re poor you get desperate I mean just look at David from edge runners, that is every day in night city.

I have to give it to Witcher. Now, Cyberpunk is ruthless. Your closest friend can backstab ya for a lucrative deal and it‘s rather common, cyberpsychos can happen who just kill people out of nowhere, getting killed by a random Malestrom or Scavanger for fun and the usual rape, murder and etc.

But here’s the thing, Witcher 3 also has all those things, the worse part is thou, once you die, there is a chance you will continue to suffer. Becoming Wraiths, ghosts, ghouls, drowned and etc. and you will suffer the life of a mindless monster, roaming around and unintentionally killing families. And not to mention, thanks to everyone‘s favorite dark sorceress, you can literally be tortured too as a corpse after you were already dead. That’s borderline unhinged.
