It exceeded all expectations! Well done SpaceX. For those interested, the fuel header tank pressure was low during landing burn causing a high touch down velocity.

We will get better at it. This just shows that we need to master our projects.

Stupid coverage by the ignorant Media! This was a fantastic success, and most of the objectives of this test flight were achieved. The thrust problem with the engines at the very end will probably be the easiest to fix, as SpaceX has become very experienced in landing rockets. In fact they probably already have a solution worked out. On the other hand, the "belly flop" and the flip-to-vertical maneuvers were the biggest unknowns, and they appeared to be performed flawlessly. Way to go, SpaceX! (And nice going, Bloomberg, you miserable failures.)

So Damn close. If it went off a little sooner, then I think it would have done fine

"Unmanned test flight" should've told you this likely would've happened

I'm disappointed but honestly not surprised for what's supposed to be a prototype rocket

Why not a parachute for the very last part of the landing???

this thing only had a 30% chance of even landing per Elon. Most people gave it 30% to even get off the launch pad. elon said it would more than likely Crater into the ground.

Amazing flight . Maybe if all Raptor engines were working properly .

Wasn't perfectly perpendicular to the ground. Landed slanted.

Too fast... damn. Wonder who got the math wrong.

Almost. Little bit engine trouble at the end didn’t appear to fire all engines but the decent was awesome and controlled. If this were NASA it would take years to build another. SpaceX will have another up in a few weeks.

Bloomberg can't "Think" his way out of wet paper bag compared to the SpaceX team. Successful test all the way through. Regardless of any bug at the end.
