Great condensed history of racial discrimination in the U.S. Unfortunately, many of the Confederate states would make it illegal for teachers to show their students this video.

This makes me cry. As a White person, I cannot understand how one race can do this to people and treat them wrong. I will never ever be like this and I didn't teach my children to be this way. I was raised around Black people and know what it's like for them to be treated unfairly. I knew a black woman, We called her Grandmother, I can't remember exactly but She was around 75 or 80 when I was little, that was almost 45 years ago. She lived through Jim Crow era and would tell us stories of what happened to her in Alabama. She took us in and gave us tea and cookies and food when we needed it. She didn't have to, but she did. I'm forever thankful for her as it taught me that no matter the color, treat people equally. Her family treated us like we were their family. God Bless them all. It's people like that in my life that matter most to me. Thank you Grandmother. <3 Thank you for this documentary, this brought back some great memories for me. GBY.

I, as an Englishman, am very grateful to have seen this video. I had no idea that so much of the terrible segregation started in the northern states.

The truth is that everyone has African ancestry since the first humans evolved in Africa and then dispersed throughout the world. Skin color evolved to protect those people living near the equator to be protected from UV rays from the Sun and help people who live away from the equator to receive adequate UV rays to form vitamin D.

Thank you for the video. It was well informed and very appropriate. A lot of Americans really don’t know about the truth and should watch this.

Economics, politics and codes and customs aside, where did the hatred come from, which is what nobody can seem to explain. I still don't understand that part.

A stain? No. A stain is something small that can be cleaned. This is a spill on our past. A huge spill that can not be easily removed. It has left it's mark for centuries.

And they’re trying to get rid of black history in schools. Smh. Hate it. I hope most people know that this actually happened and still is happening to a different degree today.
