I just got the SlingStudio and I have my first gig tomorrow. after I tested this I think this is a good replacement for my old style live streaming with OBS. its harder to set up but I can even use it as a final video of the wedding if I want. what do you think?

To be honest, I've had the opposite experience! If you're using a regular modem, or even smartphone, to stream from, then you're guaranteed that many of those 300 guests will be chewing up the bandwidth on this connection -- whereas most of the guests probably won't connect to the venue's WiFi, because they'd need to specially ask someone for the password.

I'm getting married next September in a church, because of covid most churches already have all the livestream equipment as they livestreamed every service during lockdown so big win all round!

1. what are the benefits of using a video capture card versus say, hooking up all your cameras to an HDMI switcher with feeds direct into the laptop? Are there latency benefits etc?
2. Regarding audio, how do you mitigate syncing issues between audio and video?

Ive been live streaming as an option since 2014 and for the corona virus, giving is away to my 2020 and 2021 couples. I've found that Mevo products tend to work well for me, just a basic stream, nothing fancy because I'm too busy filming the ceremony. And you can hook in an audio course and additional battery pack if needed.

I have been using the AverMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 plus. I compared it to CamLink, you do not need OBS to run Facebook live and it works just as well. You heard it here first. And they have them in stock.

Good stuff. The example shown at the beginning of the video seemed to have multiple DSLRs going into the livestream. But the explanation only showed how to connect one. Is it as simple as connecting multiple DSLRs through multiple camlinks?
