George Wallace was quite the egocentric guy, a strong race-segregrationist. He is also the only third-party presidential candidate to recieve electoral college pledge votes from the five southern states (1968) that he won in.

In 2000, Ralph Nader got more than 3% of the national vote, but he won no states, but would be in second place for a third party (Green) vote-getter.
