USB Camera Spectrometer

A simple and easy to use design for a DIY spectrometer. The components are a 55mm handheld spectroscope, 8MP HD Webcam IMX179 Sensor High Speed USB Camera Module Board USB camera, 6-22mm 5MP M12 mount varifocal lens F1.6 lens, M2 bolts and a 3D printed structure. Also includes a quick comparison to the Gaudi Labs spectrometer.

Near Slit, What is there ??? Diffraction grating or Mirror ?How to select wavelength for this caase? for example 400-700nm for analytical analysis of chemical solution or dye /Where you had connected DVD Diffraction grading? Have you connected the mirror? At the edge of the slit? Or you have connected in front of the camera-Lens?How to get absorbance -wavelength curve for a cuvette

The sensor seems to grab plenty of IR data about 700nm, but what about UV below about 380nm? Is there a UV filter on the IMX179 Sensor?

Actually, I want to plot that curve from Spectra getting from Smart Phone for different concentrations of DYE on a single window for wavelength-Absorbance.PFA. Thanks. Seeking Software tutorial of software for that like IMAGE J Or any other else.

WHich software are you using for the tool you built? I am loving the build! Could this also capture spectrum from glowing metals maybe [Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy = LIBS]?
