All cameras have IR filter inside, but What will you see if you remove IR filter from a camera? Well, I show in this video. Also, you will see how to make a camera that can see IR light. You can use this modified camera for night vision also, but you need to use IR LEDs, the same IR LEDs are used in remote controls.

The TV remote uses IR to change the channel so having an IR transparent case makes sense so it has a better chance of hitting the TVs receiver when not pointed directly at it.

Many thanks for comparative view from 2 cameras side by side!

The filter you removed looks more like a UV filter (Ultra violet) some pinkish purple color. The IR filter is more like solid red. In any way, no matter what the range of that filter is, it make a incredible difference. I want to remove the filter out of an old SLR camera and replace it with a clear glass filter. Then I want to mount it on a telescope and see what kind of weird pictures we will get of the night sky. Just for interest, using a UV filter on a camera helps a lot to get a clearer picture. The sensor is sensitive to a little bit more UV than the human eye, and it cause a "washed out" look on the photos if it is not fitted with a UV filter, or a screw on UV filter is used on the lens. Thanks for this video, now I'm motivated again to get to that modification project on the SLR camera.

excellent video, can you make a video of some solution that absorbs IR light, just like this video, where you demo materials that absorb IR light

Interesting marvellous i wonder if you can see a short on a electronic board with it's electronic components ie resistors transistors surface mount capacitors and Etc.
Thank you for your knowledge.

And just remembered a long time ago a TV series the original MacGyver made a diy thermal imager and was saving people's lives in a dark abandoned military base.

I tried it with a very simple webcam and it didn't work. The IR filter in this case was round and it seemed that it had an additional function as some kind of pre-lense, because after having removed it the images became extremely blurred. CAN SOMEONE LET ME KNOW WHICH MODELS OF WEBCAMS WORK FOR THIS????

Which camera is that cause that seems like it was very easy to remove the ir filter

Is a diy thermal infrared camera possible? Such a camera would pick up the 3 to 30 micrometer wavelength emitted by animals.

So happy to see the word "склад" on the bottle! I hope you're doing well

I believe you can also put in a infrared only filter to block out visible light

I'm wondering if IR diodes are used when shooting a hot knife.
I am also interested in which IR diodes are used. (Colorless, light blue ..)
I’m interested in this because I used a different webcam but the results are much worse.

Wonderful you find infrared x-ray camera 2years ago . Now one plus 8 has this inside mobile in 2020 . You had to patent this .

Can this technique be used to make a Flir camera?

Вау, реально интересный.. эксперимент? Попробую где нибудь нарыть старую вебкамеру, очень интересно посмотреть на "мир с другой стороны".
