In my opinion, her videos are the premier and most concise source of information for visiting Rome, its gorgeous nearby areas, and certain other Italian venues. What a treat. It was very moving to visit the cemetery at Nettuno.

Excellent video.
There are winery in Pompeii, with tours and very nice wines.
I can thoroughly recommend Ostia Antica.

You should seriously offer private guided tours or offer personal planning services. Your information is awesome. Our family will be leaving Rome on July 6, 2025 for a cruise....but we will be flying into Rome on July 1 to explore Rome for several days.

Excellent, thank you. After our stay in Rome we stayed a few days at Fumichino since it was near the airport, our final destination before flying home. We loved the town and docks and beach there as well!

Hi Elyssa, I'm going to throw out a suggestion for a future vlog. Whenever I visit a foreign country, I try to find quality artwork to bring home with me and hang on my wall or place on my table. On my last visit to Florence, I took the train to Assisi and found a studio that specialized in painted glass. Cruciani is the artist and I have a beautiful, framed piece of his work in my living room. So, perhaps you can include a vlog that will specialize in great pieces of artwork? I would really like a high quality Italian mosaic to buy. I don't know if that is done in a certain region of Italy or if it is found in various parts of Italy. Just a suggestion for you.

Bologna Is wonderful - as is a day trip from Bologna to Ravenna. Those mosaics!!

Love it❤ Thanks so much Elyssa! I think I am a fan of yours already 😁 You are so eloquent.

Can you please make a walking tour to "The Borghese Gallery" without a tour guide. 🙏

Also, can you share with us where we can buy the Colosseum ticket without a tour just in case I cannot make it to buy to the official website because it's very hard to purchase the ticket or if I buy it from the Colosseum how early should I get in line? Any suggestions and tips for the Colosseum ticket?

This is my first time to visit Italy with my husband. I watched some of your videos and I decided to go this December, so I can try the artichoke too 😉 I will definitely stay tune with your channel for more infos and tips.

Once again a wonderful video Elyssa with some great day trips, Pompeii is a must but have comfortable shoes on. Florence also a great day trip. We would like to visit Milan later in the year when we are back in Rome, would you recommend this as a day trip as you know we always follow your advice. Grazie come sempre

Fantastic! Now we may consider Anzio instead of Tivoli since my wife would like the beach (at least to see it if too cold to swim) & I want to see the port at Nettuno & the Anzio cemetery. Can’t wait, flying tomorrow!

Elyssa!! I was there in Italy in March with my husband. And I am already planning again. This time I’m taking my mother and daughter. This one will be less hectic and more relaxed trip.
Last time my husband n i wanted to see EVERYTHING. But my mom has mobility issues so I’m just going for a relaxed trip with lots of food and just generally enjoy Dolce Far Niente!!
Love from India!

First time I've heard about the giardino di Ninfa. You so gracefully handle trying to discourage a day trip from Roma to Venezia. I would just say, "Don't be silly. Forget about it!" I've been to Italy 5 times across 42 of my 62 years. And still, I fall into the trap of trying to do too much thus ending up exhausted and barely able to remember what I've experienced. There probably are people who can handle a pages long check list of things to do and actually enjoy it all (and I was one of those before I turned 40) but I'm not one of those anymore. Grazie for your excellent guidance. If I ever have the great fortune of getting back to Europe I'm just going to pick one place and BE there for a month.

Another excellent, informative and fun video. Rented a car from Hertz and manager said Orvieto was a must and we loved it. Florence still my fave. Venice...not a lot to do and a gondola will set you back $180 min.

you listed some towns I have not visited, thank you. And suggestions for traveling North for the day but farther East?

Great video, thank you Elyssa..
I am visiting L'aquila overnight from Rome in October, are Flix bus and app reliable Elyssa? Thank you.

Great ideas! Why not take a train to Tivoli and see Hadrians villa and d’Este. They run pretty frequently and then you can just catch a taxi or bus from the train station. That seems a lot easier than renting a car.

Any beaches near Fiumicino airport worth visiting? We have an early flight out and are staying at hotel near the airport getting there late afternoon the day before and thinking about finding a restaurant for near the beach. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My husband and I will be visiting Rome late January and would like to do a day trip to Orvieto. Are most shops and restaurants closed in Orvieto during this time? Thank you!

I love Venice but a single day trip isn't practical as you said. However an one-night trip could be a good option - get a hotel (I know that costs extra, but I will say there are cheaper boat options than the gondola) and you can go back to Rome the next day.

By the way Venetian food is underrated and very different from stereotypical Italian!
