When the sheriff/chief covers up for one cop, you know he's done it before with other cops in his department.

It’s disgusting that the command has protected McMaster and tried to ignore this. That officer is a danger to the community.

Zero explanation. Zero investigation. Instant escalation.

Everyone involved needs charged and fired.
Including the prosecutor.

Imagine what cops got away with before dashcams and bodycams. It was our word against them.

The sheriff and anybody else who helped cover this up should be named as co-conspirators!

I hear that the DA dropped the original charges against Canaris but filed the obstruction charge once they found out he was planning on suing the deputy and Sheriff Department hence why he had no idea about the warrant for his arrest. If this is true, the DA needs to be fired and arrested and charged with abuse of authority/power.

Not just fired, but jailed for assault and violation of civil rights.

The charges are completely ridiculous. The poor guy couldn't have resisted or obstructed because he was never even told he was detained. He was literally accosted and then severely assaulted with malice. If this was any non law enforcement person, he would be charged with attempted murder so they could get him to plea to aggravated assault. This is all made 100× worse because it was done under color of law, and even worse, covered up and ignored by his department. This corruption is at its finest.

WHY was he allowed to do this unpunished....?

I'd be afraid to walk or drive with cops like that on the loose

Totally unwarranted or justified. Dude was complying while still being understandably confused about the situation and who wouldn't. Just walking to work then out of no where cop rolls up, jumps out and immediately tell you to put your hands behind your back.

This cop needs to go to jail and his boss fired

That's a desire to inflict pain. Cop is a sociopath and or a narcissist. Cop had every intention to escalate for his enjoyment. You could see it coming.

Not only fire them all, but lock them up, and throw away the keys ASAP. Disgusting, Pathetic.

Police and administration have to be held accountable.

Way too many cops aren't even remotely emotionally fit for the job. Here's another one.

Fire all involved. Take their pensions. Then prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. For attempted murder, cover up, and corruption.

11 months? And this tyrant is STILL employed? And then he lies saying the guy was walking away the other way. Unbelievable.

What the video doesn't say is that the body slam broke his collar bone and fractured his skull. He was in the hospital for 9 days and has $80k in medical bills because of it.
