If a group stays with their og concept: "recycling songs and concepts" = bad
If a group changes their concept: "they lost their og feels, it was a too sudden change" = bad

Sometimes staying with the same concept isn't just a "safe move" but a smart one, taking risks is good but in a very hard industry like Kpop it's difficult to know when and if the netizens will grow a liking to the new concepts. That's why most companies try to stay with the same concept for title tracks but try to give a different vibe for some of the bsides

and im not saying this because, i stan twice, but because it's a false accusation to label twice as a repetitive group. u can even see how diverse their music is just with the 2021 comebacks.

not to mention the bsides.

sub unit songs especially ‘Hello’ just show they can do other concept, its just they focus only on one, im pretty sure every other gg can do any concept but its all up to them to do it or not, the real problem is these fans that keep complaining and can never be satisfied with anything

They got back to Scientist from a mature concept and yes, it's cute. But listen to the whole album, it's not all cute. Icon, Cruel, F.I.L.A, Last Walt, Espresso, and Hello is such a bomb. Those track are all cooolll. So, this comeback is not really a hundred percent cutesy again. But if ever it is all cutesy again, I accept it cause I'm a ONCE and I love TWICE.

I don't have anything against TWICE and GFRIEND being repititive because that's how I love them but I do agree with some people and they need to change a little.

"Their golden era was still very far gone" Maybe it's not their golden era anymore. But they still shine, to their achievements this year, like the wins, the records they broke like FOL being the Top rated gg album in Metacritics, The Feels, the sold out tickets in North America, and etc.

Actually in twice it is a good thing that They are having a cute concept as this concept is no more relevant in kpop groups and IT IS THE GENRE OF TWICE so the only problem is having literally 3-6 comebacks a year .

There's always been an era for GFriend:

2015 - 2017: Powerful Innocent
(Glass Bead, Me Gustas Tu, Rough, Navillera, Love Whisper)

2017 - 2019: Passionate Melancholy
(Summer Rain, Time for the Moon Night, Memoria, Sunrise, Fallin' Light) Crossroads is in 2020 but still fall in this category

2019 - 2020: Mature
(Fever, Flower, Apple, MAGO)

With that being said, GFriend had more songs that fall in the Melancholy concept but since they're mostly known for their Innocent concept, people tend to associate it with them. When they tried something different with FINGERTIP, people were saying that they shouldn't change concept.

Twice ≠ repetitive
Twice has one of the most diverse concept and discography among kpop girlgroup yet people still call them cute. Pay attention lmao

People could never be satisfied like wtf...Twice did cute concept but their music is never repetitive and the fact that they even did many girlcrush concept. Repetitive means Momoland Baam and Boom Boom which kinda have same musics

TWICE is basically one of the only GG that actually incorporate multiple genres in their songs (euroHouse + vintage for TT, Mexican acid cabaret + Bossa Nova for Alcohol-free, Synthwave for "I can't stop me", tropical/jungle electro beat for More&More, to 80s JPop/Vaporwave for the latest Doughnut).

Scientist is really the only repetitive one, but they more than made for it in the rest of their album, as it has the most experimentation the group has ever done since creation, and it's by far their best compilation.

People focusing only on "concept", would be baffling, considering the plethora of other famous groups mainly focused on girls crush with predictive electro pop mixes, with random Spanish word thrown around, to make it sound exotic.

Twice and Gfriend evolved in thier music and concepts since 2019.

But yet this channel doesn't mention that one group who's almost entire discography is made up of same repitative sound and concept.

Twice are not repetitive. You should check out their album formula of love. It's their decision to try whatever concept. Their nice and catchy music is one of the things that make them different from other groups. They are a legend and they still have to achieve many things.There are groups who stick to girl crush concept or dark concept and it's their decision. Maybe they seem repetitive to some because of many comeback this year. They also have tried summer concept (alcohol free), elegant concept (doughnut) and girl crush concept (perfect world) this year. That's all what I know.
