When I was 16 (1994) working at the local Ace Hardware, one of my coworkers (Also 16) was able to use his Dad's 1982 Mustang to get to work. Just like this one, but I think it had T Tops. He would roast the tires every night when he left. All the way through third gear in the parking lot. It was a long strip mall. I can't believe he never got hassled by anyone. He'd hit 60-70mph every nice summer night. I've been hooked on Fox Mustangs ever since.

The finished appearance of this GT is outstanding. Possibly the best early Foxbody I have seen. The coyote under the hood has the overstuffed vibe of a Boss 429. And credit to your wife for the wheel choice which really works on this car. A+

Nice! I had the same year and color back in high school. Had centerline rims. I agree with the louvers. I'm not a big fan of them, even back in the day, but they fit with the car well today. Thanks for bringing new life to a classic pony! Don't ever sell it. You'll just regret it!

That offset on the front is perfect, so many Fox’s front wheels look set to far back!!

Your story of your Mustang is petty close to mine. I still have my first Mustang one to being an 82 Mustang GT, also black. I was only 16 1/2 years old and first year in High School, which my father bought me the car. Since then I still have it looking too looking nice and have had 4 Mustang GT's in total to this day also all in black. Like you said the first one holds good memories of our youth years now being 53 years old. Beautiful car you have, enjoy.

When I had my 82 GT, I debated ditching the louvres but never did, it just looked right for the era even though it didn't have the same look as the belly-button 87-93 hatchbacks that everyone else had. I'm glad you kept them.

Like the video. Myself i have a Mustang 🐎 gl that sat for 10 years in my family's garage.
Glad to say i finally got it up & running again.
But, recently i accidentally dropped a wrench that lodged between the alternator and valve cover...The ignition solenoid went up in smoke & thought i had fried the starter. I haven't yet figured out just what i fried, but hope to get it back on the road soon

Love the story. I’ve held on to my first car 84 black GT which I bought when I was 16 too. Thanks for the inspiration and I hope I can do something similar in the future. Love it.

I wish my parents would have bought me a Mustang when I was 16. I had to get a job and buy my own.

I love the 4 eyes, love the louvers... not a fan of the plastic behind the quarter glass. It kills it for me on 9/10 early fox's but on this one they look in place with the louvers in my opinion.

The car is fantastic in every way.

Very frustrating that there's not more video of this car actually driving. Definitely want to hear it under load!

louvers are a must on these foxbodys, i wonder if the floor pan was still in tact...where the seates bolted to the floor on my 83 gt, i started to see cracks, and i drilled an 1/8 in hole at the end of the crack to stop the crack from progressing across the trans hump.
