When I was the safety officer of my college fraternity, I patched a fair few holes in drywall from parties and slammed doors. I always used offcuts from Home Depot and paint stirring sticks because it saved a ton of money

Try the fast drying spackle (pre-mixed). It's great because it doesn't leave cracks when it dries.

Hey Mike, great video as usual. But real man, that's a nice house! I wouldn't call it "a hole in the wall!" Lol. Nah I'm joking. Also on a medium sized hole, you can use a 1 by and if not near a stud. And just run a couple screws into the good drywall, and into the board your holding on the inside of the wall. Then put your piece of drywall in place, and run screws through that piece into the board your previously attached to the good drywall next to the hole. I hope that made since.. lol sorry if not.

Oh don’t listen to naysayer stuff - you’re great Mike- love whatever you put out. It takes time to get things going and film and supply gathering and budgets- omg so much that’s not shown - I’ve done 2 flips - it’s a lot of stuff - keep on keeping on - love your videos I watch them over and over and I’m not fixing anything🤣🤣 I’m 67 yrs and I think your parents are so proud - I am and I’m not even your parent!! Great job!!!

Use California patch for small holes, not the kits. Use a raking light to check your sanding for smoothness

how about a crack? i have a T shaped crack on ceiling
that i can feel bounce and ben d when i press it, its not crumbling.

The real pro tip on all those repairs is that you don't need to sand with sandpaper. Get a damp sponge and go over the entire patch. It takes a little bit longer, but you don't get drywall dust everywhere.

I have been using hot mud for my first round. That stuff dries hard and fast.
